Lumiére De Vie Volcanic Exfoliating Mask

lumiere de vie
Amber Ridinger is the daughter of entrepreneurs J.R. & Loren Ridinger. I've had the pleasure of previously working with Loren and she's so lovely (& the Godmother to JLO's twins ♥) and hands on with the Market America business (I keep my handwritten card from her up in my room, sad I know lol) So it was only a matter of time before Amber branched out and launched her own business under the Market America business. Her Lumiére De Vie skincare line is getting good feedback and I was sent the Volcanic Exfoliating Mask* to try.

Lumiére De Vie Review
I've used this roughly for just under a month, it recommends that it's applied 2x a week to detoxify the skin. My skincare routine lately has been spot on and keeping my skin clear from any hormonal spots, day - day acne, smooth texture and the oil is under control. Adding this masque to my routine should of helped, yes? Well I'm not 100% sure. What I like about this mask is when you begin to wash it off, you massage it around the face and can feel the gritty texture, exfoliating the skin surface, so I miss out the exfoliating before using the mask as this is a 2-in-1.

First Week
The first time I used it, I broke out on my chin, I wasn't impressed but thought maybe because it's...you know...that time, my skin is acting the fool.

Second Week
I had no issue using the mask on this week, my skin felt smooth and cleaner after using the mask. When it dried, there was more dark spots on my nose, as if the mask was drawing out dirt & nasties. The texture of my face hadn't changed but it looked brighter after washing it off.

Third Week
No new spots, brighter & smoother skin after use. Really liked using it this week, the exfoliating seemed to do it a world of good on both occasions.

Fourth Week
I used it twice again and both times, I ended up with a few spots, one on my cheek is quite red and painful. The second time I used it within the week my face started to tingle, I had only applied a thin layer and after taking the photo, I had to wash it off before it had fully dried. The next morning texture of my forehead and around my mouth was getting a bit drier and small bumps were appearing. I will draw the conclusion that was due to the stinging sensation.

My nan said to me, maybe it's drawing out all the impurities, maybe - maybe not. Depends if you believe in the purging myth. The two times I've had an issue with it, has been near to my menstrual cycle date. Once my hormones start to be unbalanced the mask doesn't seem to help me through that, seems to react with my skin more.
I'm looking through the ingredients and I'm trying to see if there's anything that might be too harsh for my skin?
Beta-Glucan, Perfection Peptide-3TM (hexanoyl dipeptide-3 norleucine acetate), glycolic acid, lactic acid, sodium PCA, sweet almond oil

Taken from the Market America website here's a list of key ingredients and their purpose:

Hexanoyl Dipeptide-3 Norleucine Acetate (PerfectionPeptide P3™)
A unique, technologically-advanced tripeptide that promotes natural exfoliation of dead skin cells to support healthy cell renewal. Clinical testing shows that PerfectionPeptide P3™ reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, gives the skin a smoother, more radiant appearance, and helps reduce the appearance of skin imperfections and irregularities.

Pumice
A very fine powder that provides natural mineral exfoliating to leave the skin looking polished and glowing.

Allantoin
Allantoin has anti-irritant properties, which help to protect and soothe your skin, leaving it feeling smoother and softer.

Prunus amygdalus dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil
Sweet almond oil is a pale oil obtained from almonds (Prunus amygdalus dulcis). Rich in oleic and linoleic triglycerides, sweet almond oil is an excellent skin conditioning agent that helps keep your skin hydrated, and looking smooth and soft. Almond oil helps protect the surface of the skin, while conditioning the skin and promoting a clear, younger-looking complexion. Almond oil is also a great moisturizer that is appropriate for all skin types, but is especially effective on dry or irritated skin.

Olea europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil
Olive oil is rich in antioxidants and fatty acids. These characteristics make olive oil an excellent choice for moisturizing the skin and protecting it from environmental stressors and, thus, helping keep the skin looking smoother and more youthful.

Sodium PCA
Powerful, natural moisturizing agent that is found in human skin and is part of the natural moisturizing factor of healthy skin. Has been shown to hydrate the skin more effectively than traditionally used compounds in skincare products.

Beta-Glucan (Oat)
Beta-glucan extracts help hydrate the skin, and support firmness, skin tone and elasticity, while also helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

I don't necessarily have sensitive skin, it can generally take a battering but it's not reacting well to the mask at times. I've had mixed results, had a really good two weeks but started to notice a change in my skins texture.
