While at LFW Grace & I, went to chill at the Glam Blogging Suite as we had 3 hrs between the shows to really just be pampered & mingle. We was given a goody bag with some really nice Rimmel London products in.

Inside was the new Kate Moss Lipsticks, I've never tried any of her lipsticks with Rimmel, meh - I'm not sure why not, at first I said yeah let me go get one & just never did. Having it now inside the bag gives me a chance to see how these are.

5 matte shades all ready for the upcoming Autumn season, the colours range from a nude, reds to a  purple.
Let's get to swatching & reviewing :

#101 - This is a blue based pink & Is one of two shades I see being popular with a few of the girls. I like how it looks on my skin with the flash, looks a lil bit more baby /bubblegum pink, in the daylight it's got a slight lilac undertone to it but for everyday I doubt it would really do my skin justice but who know's I might have to do a look with it featuring one of the new Sleek palettes.

#107 - Dark lips, great for the upcoming season, festive times a lot of red and purples are used. This doesn't look as dark as it does in the tube but it's such a gorgeous shade and can be quite a glamorous look and a nice alternative to a red.

#110 - This orange based red is such a gorgeous colour, gives such a coral tone on my lips, a stunning alternative to the upcoming season. I've read that for some it reminds them of MAC Morange which I have & once swatched on the hand #110 does but on my lips it more reminds me of a less than vibrant Sleek Coral Reef.

#111 - Postbox red,  it's an instant classic!

#113 - Peachy toned nude, another favourite for some I believe. I think I'd have to put a lip gloss over this to make it more wearable but definitely one I'd have to try within a look but then again it might not suit me too well. Looks nice in the flash photo in person might need a little perking up.

Being as these are marketed as a matte lipstick these are unbelievably hydrating with a sheen. Matte as well know can feel very drying and uncomfortable with the constant reminder it's there but these are gorgeous and highly recommended. These even have a slight fruity smell that I cannot distinguish ( peaches? watermelon? cherries? )

Krispy Kreme* have released more new flavours within their range. Last year I was lucky enough to be supplied their gorgeous Glamour Glaze range & partly being a lifestyle sort of blog at times, food comes into play here & there.

The three interesting tastes are Salted Caramel, Pistachio & White Chocolate Nougat & Chocolate Praline Fudge Cake.

I was sent a mixture of Salted Caramel & Butterscotch Sundae ( which I believe was already released & not new ? ) but it was just in time for London Fashion Week SS13 and these babies arrived looking to kill my diet ( diet? what diet!? ) Found it interesting a new collection of A/W doughnuts alongside a new collection of S/S clothes. Kind of tied in on my week.

I'm not a huge fan of caramel and the chocolate on top was too rich for me and I didn't particularly enjoy the Salted Caramel - my taste buds didn't rejoice. The center of it had oozing caramel that would of complimented the taste buds with the soft dough and rich chocolate.

White Chocolate Nougat was softer in taste an original glazed doughnut that was filled in the middle with a soft & thick butterscotch cream (kreme) sprinkled with chocolate honeycomb this was enough to send one into a diabetic coma with all the sweet taste and with a chocolate fan to finish off all the decoration and added extras. Out of the two this sweet, soft baby was my favourite.

These are available from 10th September - January 2013
£1.75 each or chose your own dozen for £10.95

Question is : Do you want to get kremey with me ? :)

Tans for WOC | MakeBelieve Part One - Self Tan Lotion

LAQA & CO. Nail Pens & Lip Pencil

Sugar & Sin

A few people asked me how did my hair get so long recently - considering I did cut it lol. Simple answer. Clip in extensions.
Hairdo is the brain child of Ken Paves who you might know of being the long time hairdresser of Jessica Simpson. This is just one bundle of hair.

I have mine in the colour butterscotch as I had to remind myself that my ends are quite light with the blonde and the rest of the hair covers the rest.

I have NEVER used clip ins before, always been quite unsure with the clip-ins because I always think they are so easy to come out. I parted my hair just above my ear and secured the clips as best as I could.

Let my hair down and viola.
Once styled and blended in, have some longer blonde pieces to my hair.

Let's talk about the hair itself. The Tru2Life synthetic fibres withstand heat to up to 350F roughly 175C it does say on the instructions for what you are doing the best suggested temperature such as if you are straightening with a flat iron take a one inch section straightening at the roots and run the flat iron to the ends.
If you are curling the hair wrap the hair around the iron for 10 seconds and carefully slide off the iron and hold the curl in place, pin it with a clip until the fibre cools.
Both of these can be done at a heat of 116C.
I guess I'm not the biggest fan of synthetic hair - is anyone? But what I do love about this is how it's just one bit of hair that can easily be attached to the hair.

I recommend these especially for those with shoulder length hair who would love that ombre style but don't want to go through the process of bleach. These come in 6 variations.

Refreshing the Ombre

Hi, My Names LaaLaa & I wear glasses...

Over a month ago I mentioned this Antiac acne spray and I documented my skin for the first two weeks to see if I noticed any initial change while introducing this into my skincare routine.

Antiac Update

Hi ladies, been a little while. Busy bumblebee here! As some of you know me and Annie have been busy organising a tanning project. It's aimed at women of colour and we have 10 bloggers including ourselves that over the 5 weeks we will be reviewing various tans...to find out more please read here.

Hot off the heels of last weeks An evening with Abi O tanning event in London we have BeauBronz to review this week kicking off this project.

About BeauBronz : This environmentally aware company is the baby and brain child of Abi O. An enthusiastic and hands on natural products expert. Abi's clientèle is just as impressive as her products. There is NO animal testing, never on those cute bunnies (or any others), just cute models and family members. What makes BeauBronz even more special is the fact that it's designed with women of colour in mind. Paraben free and certified organic ingredients really does separate this product from a lot on the market.

Products : BeauBronz products range from Gradual Tanner, Sun Self Tan, Shimmer Tan, Sun Self tan for English Roses and Bronzed Goddess Dark Tanning Mousse - There's something for everyone! Shop here & find out more.
Pre-Tan: Before any tanning happens, your skin needs to be prepped!
  • Wax or shave the area 24 hours prior
  • Exfoliate well before apply making sure your skin is clean & dry.
  • Don't use creams or deodorant on the skin but do Moisturise ONLY the drier areas of your skin such as knees, elbows, toes etc.
Review : Today I'm reviewing the Shimmer Tan Boost with Glistening Gold. For reference I'm a MAC NC40 - NC42 and I use a C5 Face + Body. I tested this product out on my arms.

Upon pumping a small amount out and applying, it become clear to me that a lot is not needed and this product is great to build up your desired look.

Here is my skin before, shaved, exfoliated and cream free.

Directly after rubbing in the shimmer tan boost.

Umm to me this scent wasn't odourless but not as overbearing as the previous tans I have worn in the past but it had a raw potato smell, that does wear off slightly but if you do smell your skin it's present. This tan has BIO Active Aloe and contains only 2.5% Ecocert DHA  I wore this tan boost all day and the glistening wasn't obvious but it gives off a nice sheen & glow without being overbearing.

You can see in the photo above the arm that I applied it to opposed to my opposite arm, is glowing but it's still subtle, brown and even!

When the sun hits certain curves in the arm, it gives it a nice highlighting and definition within my arm!

When I tell you this LAST until you wash it off, it's no lie. This last, the gold glistening particles may fade slightly but you are still left with the colour that continues to look natural. It's a fantastic product for everyday and year long use.

BeauBronz has that Midas Touch! Please do refer to the other ladies blogs who are involved in this project:

I would love it if you lovelies followed the following :

Tans for WOC | Abi O BeauBronz Review

I've had no success in the past with hair removal cream. If suggested to me, I don't even bother to take up the suggestion just because they've never worked. I was so sceptical with taken up this review because I thought yup another hair removal that's not going to work but what I was drawn to is the natural ingredients that it has. Sabi is launching on the UK market after having a successful US run. I was sent their hair removal cream and their hair growth delayer cream. Castor oil, Aloe Vera, Jojoba Seed oil, Sweet almond oil, green tea leaf oil Tea, Licorice Tea tree leaf oil are some of the balanced natural ingredients.

I was first introduced to Sothys last month. I was offered to try their new Fall - Winter collection to try out. There was one product more than the others that stood out to me but that will be reviewed soon. I'm doing them individually - sorry.
This week before I had to cut my nails down *worlds smallest violin please* I applied Sothys #25  Eclat de Gris nail polish* to my nails even though the sun has been shining I was feeling to wear this, I sometimes find wearing certain grey's quite flat.  It might be the shine that happens when it dries and it dries quickly too. It has active ingredients such as algae extracts and cysteine derivative that helps your nails become stronger & nourished.

I'm looking forward to the a/w nails, are you?

Sometimes you just need that alternative when doing your hair. The last month or so, I've been so lazy with doing my hair. I've just kept it in a bun or naturally curly. Been wanting to give it a rest before refreshing the ombre.

The Instyler* was one of those tools that you just needed to have for your hair. It can work on any type of hair.  When I was born until I was 2 my hair was straight until it turned into fractual curls and as I grew older from my roots to my ears my hair was straight and then wavy / s'wavy hair until I straightened to heck out of it and now my hair falls into straight - frizz - odd wavy curls from root - tip but the front can stay pretty straight - hell.

My hair falls in categories such as thin-medium, quite flyaway. I'm trying to reduce heat and I feel with every straightening I do with the irons it's just breaking and killing my hair.

Continuing my quest to shed the lbs, even though I haven't dared weigh myself since before I got sick as I fear I've probably put those lbs back on that I lost. I got myself a Graze box the Nibble box to be exact. Funny as I am quite a fussy eater and most healthy snack food, I don't bother to eat as I don't like the contents lol.

This box is slightly different. You get 4 snack boxes and each week they are varied, you can modify what you would never want to receive, try, like & love.  Safe to say I did bin anything with raisins - I'm anti-raisin.

Last week I got my first box for free. Inside this box was Cheddar Gorge, Apple & Cinnamon flapjack, Yin & Yang & Boston Baguettes. What's good about this as it tells you what calories they contain.
Plus it's easier to when filling out My Fitness Pal as it's already listed.

The one thing in my box I could of ate, all day, everyday for a lifetime was :

Yup the Apple & Cinnamon flapjack. In school I never enjoyed flapjacks, they were always so dry but these are full of moisture ( sounds as if I'm describing a beauty product ) and just nicely fall apart.

I just wish there was an option to get them full sized. I like that you are surprised with what you will get, they do give you an email upon dispatch and you can see what you can expect in your box..this week I got my flapjacks back - Oh my goodness, thank you Graze.

They offer two different boxes Nutrition box & Nibble box. Boxes are very reasonably priced at £3.89 p&p inc.

Have you tried Graze boxes?

The NARS x Andy Warhol is without a doubt one of the most awaited new makeup releases to come. Browse through the fabulous new products to be released and find out more about this comprehensive two part collection.

Ever since the news that cosmetic giant NARS will team up with the Andy Warhol foundation emerged, the collection became one of the most awaited ones of the new season. It's always interesting to see what these collaborations bring, particularly when icons who have had such a influence are being represented. For makeup guru François Nars, this particular collection was extremely important given the strong influence the artist had on him.

The makeup guru revealed the main ideas that have shaped the choices for the makeup products to WWD: "Even more than 20 years after his death, Andy continues to be one of the most influential figures in both contemporary art and pop culture. Andy said, ‘If everybody’s not a beauty, then nobody is.’ This is the same sentiment I wanted to bring to life with NARS — a forward-thinking attitude toward beauty, and the encouragement to inspire self-expression, creativity, and artistry in the women who wear it. It seemed like a natural fit to create a collection that Andy himself might have a hand in if he were alive today.”

With such strong emotional associations, the fact that the new collection is fairly comprehensive is no surprise. What might surprise makeup fans, however is that the collection will be released in two parts. The first set of options will be available at Sephora starting with October 1st while the holiday offerings will debut at department and specialty stores starting with November 1st.

Here are some of the products we'll be able to purchase starting with this October:

S&G Smooch Operator *

Since receiving this, I've not stopped using it. I've reached for this more than any of my other lip balm. Honestly, I can't tell you why but if it was bad, I'm sure I wouldn't be using it.

Smooch Operator - Coconut Ice.

Applying the recommended small amount, I dab it onto my lips rather then swipe it on. I then within 30 seconds - 1 minute get a tingling, cooling sensation on my lips.

This 9g 'dry lip rescue formula' lip butter balm is creamy to touch, lightly moisturising and isn't heavy or sticky.
Includes ingredients Wild Mango, Vitamin E, Argan Oil, Castor Seed Oil, Shea Butter, Coconut oil and Sweet Almond oil.

I would love to see how this holds up in the true winter days. When the protection is needed. I had a cut on my lip that healed quite nicely in a few days of applying this lip balm. Lip balm is necessary 24 / 7. The tub is light, you barely feel there is nothing in there. Doesn't smell bad either. - Bonus!

*Not sure when it's set to launch, hopefully sometime this month.

Should be available online at Soap & Glory & Boots.
