Bouclème Root Refresh.

AD - Gifted
I'm a wavy - curly girl naturally. There's one thing that I've learnt, curls aren't the most predictable of hair types! Especially when my hair gets damp or a bad nights sleep and my bonnet is by my feet, those curls that were so nice before bed, a workout or on and after day 1 of wash day aren't so presentable anymore. I've tried dried shampoo before and most times they dry out my hair.

Being in lockdown 3.0, my hair has spent a lot of time in braids, specifically dutch braids and I can't lie even after working out, I cba to re-do my hair plus when it's still in a neat style what is the point but then my scalp has been sweating so when I was offered to try Root Refresh from Bouclème, I had to try it out. This isn't my first time using the brand, I've used their curl cleanser, curl conditioner, curl defining gel, curl cream and I'm still to this day using their intensive moisture treatment.

The product comes out in a mist from the spray nozzle, which I like because the hair isn't just splattered and saturated with product. The mist gives it an even, softer application. Boucléme say "Soothe and deodorise the scalp post workout or to extend your wash day curls and coils. Also great for hydrating the scalp while wearing braids"

Key Active Ingredients

- Aloe Vera (skin-soothing & anti-inflammatory) prevents itching on the scalp and acts as a conditioner.
- Neroli Flower Water helps boost and revitalise dull looking hair can also help scalp irritation.
- Lactobacillus ferment (hydration) once applied to skin, has shown to have a potent soothing effect that strengthens the skins ability to defend itself from aggressors.
- Lupine Seed Extract (skin-soothing & anti-oxidant) omega-3 and omega-6 helps calm the skin and visibily repair its barrier.

Upon first spray I can feel the freshness and relief on the scalp, it has a nice light, sweet smell. That really does help deodorise the scalp and hair - believe me! I even revived my nans curls, that I was so shocked about as it air dried, it defined the curls. There's no stickness or residue once it dries, I've not tried to use it with a diffusier but the fact that when it air dries it leaves no residue sitting on the hair, I really doubt they'll be any crunchy feeling. It makes me not dread working out and having smelly braids lol! Would highly recommend this.

  1. I have waves in my hair but not curly hair, I do have friends with curly hair and hear their moans about taming it all the time. I will have to tell them about this product
