4 FENTY SKIN Must Haves

UNPAID/SAMPLE/AD/AFFILIATE

FENTY SKIN is coming up to it's 2 year anniversary this year, with no signs of slowing down. I like that there's not an overwhelming choice of products, it makes it easier for the customer to just pin-point what they're in need of & access it. The brand is using a lot of refillable packaging & we stan for our Goddess for doing this.

I was sent 4 products to review and they're straight to the point in terms of toning, exfoliation, hydrating and moisturisng. please keep in mind, I'm a normal to oily skin type.

Fat Water Pore Refining Toner Serum £27.00
Combining two products, this product will shrink your pores, target any dark spots thanks to the niacinamide but the most debated ingredients since this launch; fragrance & witch hazel. I know people do not like witch hazel due to its drying properties also if they've got sensitive skin, fragrant products are not ideal. Admittedly, I do use witch hazel on my body and sometimes on my face, depending on the situation as it's not an everyday product as it'll dry out the skin in the long run. If you've got sensitive, dry skin, this product may not be for you in the long run.

Let's focus on these incredible ingredients Barbados Cherry ( high in vitamin C; more than an orange) that'll help brighten the skin. Japanese Raisin Tree helps detoxify alongside Cactus Flower that hydrates and Green Tea & Fig is rich in antioxidants. When I look at the price point, it's affordable on the terms of the ingredients, the 2-in-1 product, these are well-researched and probably not cheap ingredients with this Rihanna is making sure that the product delivers with an affordable price point. I'd love for this to have a fragrance free option, maybe even opt out the witch hazel because this is a product everyone needs to be able to use.

Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer SPF30 £34.00
Why do all that work to keep our skin clear and forget about protecting it daily? I feel as black people we've been led to believe we don't need sunscreen and with there not being many SPF products on the market that doesn't give us a white cast, it makes it seem as though it's not an item that's made for us. This doesn't leave any cast on the skin but this SPF is a chemical SPF, which can prove irritating for sensitive skin but better for deeper skin tones and chemical sunscreens are actually great 2for hyperpigmentation! Chemical sunscreens can give much higher UVA protection. This has a thick texture but absorbs well into the skin and doesn't leave residue but a nice sheen on the skin. It targets the 3 D's dehydration, discoloration & dark spots, therefore over time it's going to help fine lines, pores, plump the skin & brighten. Key ingredients: Kalahari Melon is an antioxidant, Baobab, Aloe, Niacinamide and Hylauronic acid (see below for benefits). It would be great to have a night version of this without the SPF especially for the colder months.

Instant Reset Overnight Recovery Gel-Cream £38.00
As an oily skin girl, a gel-cream is perfect. Instant reset Overnight Recovery quenches the skin's thirst, reduce the look of fine lines and over-time, will help brighten dull skin and reduce the appearance of dark spots. Key ingredients include Hyaluronic acid - attracts moisture, aloe - has antioxidants in vitamins A, C and E, vitamin B12, fatty acids, folic acids, enzymes and minerals such as magnesium, calcium and zinc. Phew!!!.
Niacinamide - Vitamin B3 helps hyperpigmentation and anti-inflammatory. Baobab - an African fruit filled with vitamins A, C, D, E & F that helps to even out skin tone, anti-inflammatory fatty acids, helps treat redness and irritation.

Reading the key ingredients, there's a great combination that'll help the skin repair, whilst our body is in recovery mode. I'd love for their to be a similar one for during the day as I do find gel-creams quite light for the night and my prefrence is something thicker - especially in the autumn/winter months. But there is no doubt this night cream serves a purpose, of course it's better layered ontop of your entire night routine, I do find my skin isn't too dry when I wake.

Buff Ryder Exfoliating Body Scrub £26.00
One of my favourite things to do during a body routine - exfoliation. Being able to get rid of that dead skin making way for a smooth, soft touch & appearance. I like how Fenty Skin has incoperated body care as well as just facial care, this has a blend of exoliants and fruit enzymes along with shea butter and oils to nourish the skin. It's made with sugar, sea salt, superfine sand and avocado power. Pomegranate, papaya and pineapple enzymes that help to brighten the skin, coconut oil - hydrates and softens with it's fatty acid content and Barbados Cherry - conditions and softens the skin. This has a nice gentle smell of a tropical scent, as they put reminiscent of caramel and guava; just has me longing for Summer. For an exfoliant of every other day, it's gentle and pretty effective to keep me inbetween my weekly big korean towel scrub.
