Youth To The People Review

UNPAID/SAMPLE/AD/AFFILIATE LINKS

Being someone who has focused more on skincare in later years than make-up, I always enjoy finding new brands and incorporating additional products. Youth To The People is a brand recently introduced to me, focusing on sustainable glass packaging and more natural ingredients. YTTP is new to the UK market, while in the US, this brand has become a sell-out of much-loved products. Their Kale + Green Tea Superfood Cleanser is the number one best-seller in US Sephora! They're also Cult Beauty's most requested acquisition - that's saying a lot.

It's been a long time coming for the brand, built upon 3-generations of founding knowledge, cousins Joe and Greg say it all started from their grandmother Eva, who was a skincare pioneer herself, founding her own skincare company in the 70s. Her blend of professional-grade aesthetics with antioxidant botanicals was the blueprint of Youth To The People. The ingredients listed are there with the intention of a purposeful percentage that'll deliver visible change in your skin. So, there's nothing groundbreaking in their technique, it's just simple & it works!

Connecting skincare and wellness is a thing! Psychodermatology is real; if you suffer from skin conditions such as acne, eczeme, psoriasis, hyperpigmentation & more, they can affect your self-esteem and these conditions can be triggered by stress. Stress stimulates both the brain & skin to signal these hormones that can trigger inflammation, worsen skin conditions and accelarates aging. So we need to find products that work for us, to decrease some of the stress we have within our lives. I know that if I get spots, it doesn't matter what I do, I get hyperpigmentation & it bums me out, I feel like crap but I'm fortunate than others but we all have our hangups when it comes to our skin.

Superfood Cleanser

This cleanser has me cheating on my current cleanser, and it may just be getting replaced. A glass bottle which comes with a pump that you can place into the bottle to control how much you pump. I love the glass packaging, it's got a slight apothecary bottle feel to it. A thick gel, foams up nicely with water, I use this alongside a steamer once a week for a deep cleanse. I don't find this leave my face dry. The smell is subtle to my senses, it's fresh, with a green, healthy scent which is from the antioxidant-rich ingredients of spinach and kale.

This can remove make-up and the daily grime that we get, the ingredients are gentle enough to use twice daily to help clear pores. To use, start with a wet face, 1-2 pumps onto wet hands, rub together to get a lather and massage into the face and neck for about 30 seconds and rinse off. If removing makeup, use on a dry face and add more water as you massage for 60 seconds.

Resurfacing Energy Facial

Wow, all I can say is wow! This physical exfoliator is insane the instant results I got from using this - I was shocked! After I've cleansed, keeping the skin wet after rinsing, I apply an even layer and leave it on for about 2 minutes as this allows the enzymes to activate. I then add water and massage in circular motions to finish off the exfoliation.

As I use a chemical exfoliation product, I have a routine of using these throughout the week. E.g. if I use a chemical exfoliation on Sunday - I'll use this Tuesday & Thursday. Fine bamboo grit you can feel also contains Niacinamide which is an ingredient that helps to brighten the skin. Pineapple, papaya, passion fruit, dragon fruit and turmeric that aid with that too. It's not the cheapest but, it's one to 100% try at least once in your life.

Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask

After being introduced to sleeping masks, I always have one in my skincare draw. The first time I used this, I woke up, texted my friend, "It's only the first use, but OMG! I'm in love". A rich and creamy overnight mask which hydrates, plumps & illuminates while promoting an even and youthful complexion come the morning.

Ingredients include squalane, hyaluronic acid, glycerin which are humectants meaning it draws moisture from the air into the skin. Include a shot of antioxidant-rich super berries and a stable form of Vitamin C *wand tap* radiant, glowing skin.

I don't use this every night, although it's suggested, for nightly use for best results. For me, it works best on the nights that I exfoliate. As most of my skincare contains AHA/BHA, I don't want to overdo it once I've done an exfoliation.
Purchase: Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask £42.00

15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum

Vitamin C has become one of the ingredients that skin enthusiasts love including in their routine, the trick is finding that Vitamin C that's effective. This Vitamin C could be a forerunner in the battle! There's no stickiness when this is applied, which, I find with others, I've tried.

With not one type of Vitamin C but THREE! Ethyl ascorbic acid, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate and magnesium ascorbyl phosphate. With plant-derived caffeine, yerba mate and guayusa (known for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties) enhance microcirculation and reduce that morning puffiness.

Lately, I've been experiencing morning puffiness along with using an ice roller. I have seen that by the time I'm leaving the house, the puffiness has decreased. Hold on, not only is it's targetting the puffiness and pigmentation, antioxidant-rich dragonfruit, passion fruit and squalane help moisturise and hydrate while fighting pollutants from the skin.

Don't forget that SPF!

Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream

I haven't used a gel-cream much, but having oily skin, it's probably the best type to use as it doesn't add to the oil already on the surface of the skin. During my menstrual cycle, my skin wants to produce more oil. The last month since using this gel-cream, I noticed the overall oil production seemed limited. Its lightweight, cooling and hydrating. I feel it's replacing my Kiehl's!

Key ingredients; Kale: provides vitamins C, E, and K. Skin loving phytonutrients, meaning it's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Green tea is another antioxidant ingredient and Hyaluronic Acid which has moisture-retaining properties. There's no worry about the skin feeling dry or oilier throughout the day. Another pro, it's a multiuse cream, it can be used as a primer or added to your foundation for a hydrating boost. I haven't been wearing make-up much in the past couple of months, choosing to focus more on my skin. My skin gets a good 10 hours of hydration and benefit, feeling supple and smooth. It's a winner!

Superberry Dream Eye Cream

Eye creams, I started to include in my routine in my mid-20s, my main issues would be dark circles and puffiness, luckily no sign of fine lines & I hope, to never see them. Superberry Dream Eye Cream is a fragrance-free overnight eye cream to smooth the appearance of fine lines + wrinkles, hydrate and firm the skin while getting our beauty sleep!

The texture is thick, at the same time light-weight, absorbs seamlessly throughout the night. My under eyes appear brighter in the morning. I can't speak on fine lines decreasing as I don't have any. I was experiencing dryness under the eyes which, led to me during the night rubbing my eyes, which made it worse and more irritable. With the skin being delicately thin, it wasn't a good look. About 2-weeks of using this, hydration was present and, the irritation was gone.

Conclusion

Youth To The People, you have another cult member. I started some of the products before others as I was reviewing other products, so I've seen more improvements with those quicker than others, needless to say, I've been converted! If you're looking for particular skin treatments, it's a brand to consider. As I understand to divulge in the complete range might not be affordable for many. It's hard to say what the most stand-out products are for me, as I truly fell in love! If I had to pick, no, I couldn't. I'm hoping soon, the refill for the cleanser will be available because it's 100% necessary, being cost-effective and environmentally conscious.

I have a Youth To The People wishlist, Kombucha +11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner & Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Oil once I get my hands on these, I'll be reporting back!!

The other day I was asked if I was wearing make-up because my skin was clear, smooth and glowing. We live for those moments!

  1. These look like really nice products worth trying. I have not bought any new skin care products at this time. I will check if this brand is available online. If it is, I am definitely getting that superfood cleanser.

  2. I do love reading about skin care products, I have not tried this range before but do love natural products, I am always wary of eye creams after having a reaction to one once I have to be careful

  4. I've tried the cleanser (although I didn't get a pump so it was a bit tougher to use), and I have the vitamin c as well which is nice. I want to try the energy facial next x
