I always look forward to the TVK Beauty Box for obvious reasons but it's always nice to find some new vegan brands and items. The interesting goodies in the box are one that is for everyone but what makes it more sweet is that it's all vegan.

Spectrum Collections Unicorn Tears Wonder Sponge, I always keep a sponge on hand. I like to apply my foundation especially in the warmer months with a sponge or to just even out my makeup. This is latex free & vegan which is good to know cos it's safer to use on yourself and to add more to my pro makeup kit. I'm really liking the Spectrum Collections brand.

Grounded Edible Mango Lip Scrub...Mmm lip scrub. It's pretty easy to make your own but hey treating yourself to one from time to time isn't a negative especially when you can scrub and lick clean with a tropic, refreshing mango taste.

Your Tea 'Tea Face' Healing Hydration Scrub - excited to use this. It's made up of tiny tea granules, essential oils: Rosehip, Jojoba and Patchouli, scented with ylang ylang. It aims to gently exfoliate & revitalise skin while healing scars, uneven skin tone and give a glowing complexion.

How to use:
Clean your skin with a cleanser of choice, ensuring it is free of makeup/oil
With your fingertips, lather a teaspoon full of TeaFace scrub over your face. Be sure to steer clear of your eyes and surrounding areas as this skin is extremely delicate
With your fingertips, gently scrub in a circular motion over your face. The pressure should be gentle enough to feel comfortable yet firm enough to feel the circulation moving
Leave the scrub on your face to soak for anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. Each skin type will be different – so once you feel like your skin is ready and has finished hydrating/soaking – you can remove.

This one I'm going to have fun with and after exploring the Your Tea website, I'm looking forward to trying more from the brand ASAP!

PHB Ethical Beauty 100% Organic Apricot Lip Gloss, it's made up of organic and fair trade shea butter and jojoba oil to moisturise and protect your lips. It leaves a nice shimmer running throughout, nothing chunky or gritty. It's not bad for me to wear alone as it's quite sheer on my lips but especially on top of lipstick it adds a nice sheen and glare.

Noughty Hair Care Intensive Care Leave-in Conditioner - my star product for this reason, a good few years ago I was introduced to the brand Naked - also their tagline was 97% natural. They had products for curly hair and my hair loved the brand, was effective and gentle but they disappeared, closed up shop on the brand & it was no more. As I opened this box and spotted Noughty, I exclaimed that it looked just like Naked. While talking to my friend we noticed from my last bit of Naked stock that I'd given my nan the leave in conditioners were both by the KMI brand. I found this on a forum from Noughty "Thank you for finding us again. Following all your wonderful feedback about Naked, we have been working hard behind the scenes to combine the very best of Naked, with the latest developments in natural ingredients to bring back those amazing curls, as well as those beautiful smiles. The Noughty team xx" - it looks like they're back! I'm excited to wash my hair and use this.

Wow, if this isn't a flashback to my teens, So...? Who didn't have the body spray? I use to think I was 'ish with it in my school bag lol. It's those little things - right?! So...? have released body mists to their ever growing collection and there's so many choices scent wise but I decided to go with those that I would go for note wise, I enjoy fruity, zesty, sweet scents so it was a no brainer:

So…? Vanilla Milkshake body mist contains gorgeous notes of sweet vanilla, which are complemented by a playful mix of peach & plum.
So…? Fruity body mist begins with zingy notes of mandarin, followed by a gorgeous melange of peachy notes.
So…? Pink Grapefruit body mist is a tropical cocktail of zesty citrus, complemented by fruity notes of mango and passion.

These retail for £3.99 each. I found them all to be quite 'wet' with the first spritz in scent it didn't hold much of a punch as I hoped with the notes but when I sprayed it again the scents were more present and mildly vibrant. The Pink Grapefruit has a familiar smell that I still can't figure out what but it seems to be the one that lingers the longest in comparison to the other two which don't last very long. Better off spraying it on the clothes or adhering it onto the skin after moisturising.

Have you used So...? product before?

Each month I'm so surprised at the box number, this is the 40th box. Amazing and such a great feat 😂....The past two boxes I didn't feature on the blog but it was on my blogs Instagram. Let's get to the food...😋

The Candy Kittens and Hello Kitty Sour Apple Sweets are very sour and tangy, I do like sour sweets so these are a treat to have, sometimes I just keep them in my mouth and suck the coating off and then chew the sweet. It's not essential to suck and chew for a while but it sure makes the sweetness last.

Simply7 Bruschetta Lentil Crisps - simply dope. These are described as adding authentic flavours of Italy to the Middle Eastern inspiration of Lentil. Made with lentil flour it's an amazing alternative to potato chips but I wouldn't of known without reading, they're enjoyable and I shared them around and my grandmother & bestie enjoyed them.

I quite enjoy this brand, so seeing Human+Kind Watermelon Hand+Elbow+Foot Cream within the box is a nice treat,I like the smell of watermelon as it's refreshing, within the product it's got shea butter, Calendula and Aloe Vera, purely hydrating and nourishing. I adore shea butter as it is, I'm looking forward to using this.

Raw dark chocolate, Ombar Centres Raspberry & Coconut is giving you a creamy & sweet filling encased in chocolate sourced from Ecuadorian cocoa farms. Tasty raspberry and coconut give a nice balance to each other that'll leave you wanting more.

Quinola Mothergrain Express Quinoa and Indian Style Chickpeas, I like Quinoa, it's a good alternative to rice. I've tried others thanks to TVK from the Quinola Mothergrain Express. This makes a quick filling meal as it only needs 90 seconds to reheat in the microwave, it's got vegetable protien, fibre, iron and slow releasing carbs so it'll keep you full until the next snack/meal.

Virtue Peach and Strawberry Ice Tea, make delicious ice tea, naturally low in calories (69kcals) with antioxidants, vitamins & minerals. It's nicely chilled and refreshing and it doesn't compromise on taste as sometimes no/low calorie drinks can taste weak but this is not the case.

Dermalogica as we know do a lot of great skin care products. There's a couple I can't do without and I think these are another addition - Daily cleansing shampoo & daily conditioning rinse.

The cleansing shampoo has zero sulfates meaning it's not stripping the hair of it's natural oils, for my hair or scalp to be dried out -even if I'm going to be putting products in afterwards- is a no go, I don't like my hair feeling like straw. As noted it's sulfate free so you may automatically feel there's no foaming action but if you're a person who likes to see their product foam, this does foam. Foam doesn't bother me, I can take it or leave it. Once applying this to my roots and massaging on the scalp, I then bring it down to the mid sections and rinse out, it does a good job of cleaning my hair pretty quickly. Once rinsed out my hair doesn't feel stripped or dry - sometimes I skip shampoos and co-wash especially if I don't have product buildup cos some shampoos sulfate free, can leave my strands feeling dry & I'm happy to say not the case here. Leading onto the conditioning rinse, it gives a good slip so any further detangling isn't an issue, my fingers or wide tooth comb run through the strands and it feels as though my thirsty locks are getting their drink on happily.

Overall I was pleased with the products and how my hair reacted with them, I have low porosity hair so it can get thirsty & I'm still dealing with my ex bleaching job which can leave hair damaged/dry but this surprised me a lot for my curly locks.

Dermalogica Daily Cleansing Shampoo & Conditioning Rinse.

A few weeks before Christmas I began using the Samaya Pitta Hydrating Cleanser, which came about after I was asked if I’d like to do trial and review the range, having a read about the products, I loved the sound of the ingredients. Even more so after my post on venturing more into Ayurvedic rituals, this tied in perfectly. I was asked to answer questions to “Discover your Dosha” and it determines what is my dominant dosha.

What’s Dosha?

Dosha is the name given to the energies that govern every individual, there’s primarily three types of dosha: Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
Each type corresponds to a set of physical and emotional traits, some individuals find that they’re a combination of two, sometimes in rare cases three! But when our particular dosha is balanced, our mind, body and soul are in perfect harmony, which is seen through healthy, radiant skin.

“Being aware of our dosha type means we can make choices to help balance these energies to achieve wellness, peace and calm, all of which contribute to younger-looking, stress-free, beautiful skin.”

Pitta Hydrating Cleanser

The cleanser itself is a medium lotion with a floral but sweet scent, smells very natural as it should because the ingredients are mind blowing when I read just some of them being Jasmine, Neem, Lotus, Turmeric, Saffron, Shatavari and Gotu Kola - I was even more so anticipating using this cleanser. I like to use an oil or a natural lotion cleanser to remove any dirt/makeup as it's gentle and pure as is this. free from parabens, sulphates, PEGs, TEA, DEA, propylene glycol, phthalates, petrochemicals, synthetic colour, synthetic fragrances, mineral oils and silicones. . Comes with a pump but I find the pump to be quite difficult, it doesn't pump well, I'm not sure if it's mine only but I tend to just screw the top off and take product off the stem which serves me fine.

Key Ingredients

Jasmine Flower Extract
Beautiful aroma with proven mood-boosting effect; improves energy; reduces anxiety and stress; helps to balance moisture levels and increase skin’s elasticity while soothing mind and body; antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties help protect skin.

Neem Oil
Promotes skin healing; helps reduce itching and roughness; purifies skin; neutralises damaging free radicals to help skin achieve a radiant glow.

Saffron Extract
Valued for its skin toning abilities; can impart a natural radiance as it helps to reduce pigmentation; has mood-enhancing properties; is considered to be an aphrodisiac and is often used as a tonic to improve general health.

Lotus Seed Extract
Sacred anti-inflammatory ingredient; contains zinc and anti-ageing enzymes which can repair damaged or sensitive skin while soothing and calming the mind; beneficial for blemish-prone skin.

Manuka Honey Extract
Natural antioxidant and anti-bacterial; helps keep skin supple and toned; contains Lignin which is a natural organic substance that binds cells together.

Shatavari Extract
Considered in Ayurvedic tradition to be the female equivalent to Ashwagandha, Shatavari’s name in Sanskrit translates as ‘she who possesses one hundred husbands.’ It has long been used as a tonic for female health concerns and as a means of reducing stress and tension. Shatavari also has nutritive and rejuvenative properties for skin, contributing towards a renewed, youthful appearance.

Aloe Leaf Extract
Antibacterial, anti-ageing ingredient; soothes and promotes healing; hydrates skin; contributes to the natural production of collagen and elastin in skin.

How I Use

On dry skin, I massage the product for roughly a minute, working it down onto my neck also. I will let my muslin cloth sit in some warm water during this time and wring out and wipe away. My skin is left moisturised, soft and clean without any harsh procedures. I typically use this twice or once a day depending if I'm going to using my magnitone to cleanse like I do once or twice a week.

Once thing I've noticed I've not broken out since using this *touch wood* the only times I've broken out was after I plucked my brows - tends to happen but it settles within a couple days. I've been using The Ordinary skincare along with this and my glycolic cleanser with my magnitone. Who knows? Is it this cleanser helping to balance out my skin? I'd really like to think it's helping to contribute. I know the price is going to give some eyes a widening experience - it did the same to me. Due to the ingredients & it's also British made it's got some great ingredients for the skin and to help even skin tone, which is always welcome to me. Thumbs up SAMAYA & thank you for balancing my Dosha.

Samaya Pitta Hydrating Cleanser

For a few years, I’ve seen these floating around the internet and people said how great they were for getting rid of dead skin, which to me equates as always getting rid of hyperpigmentation – bane of my life if I get a spot. Now I was using the Neostrata skincare range and it says not to use chemical peel products (alpha and beta hydroxy acid, retin A or retinol) 48hrs before use and to wait at least 7 days but as I was continuously using it I had to delay starting this.

Late last October I ended up with a friction burn on the side of my face and I knew, this is going to leave a mark for sure and waiting for it to heal I knew that this PMD was going to be a great thing to use in conjunction with my daily products to help even out my skintone once again. I didn’t start to use this properly until late November because I wanted the skin on my face to be healed properly and it took about a month for it to get to that point. Within my box I got, the device, a plug with changeable pins for travel use, instructional dvd & 2 grey (very sensitive), 2 blue (sensitive) and 2 green (moderate) discs for my face & body – I’ve not used those yet but I think it could be good for the kneecaps.
After I thoroughly clean my skin and patted it dry, I plug in the device and start from my chin upwards, always pulling the device outwards on my face except my nose, I go upwards on the outside and downwards on the bridge. Only pass over one area once, otherwise you’re irritating the skin and may get redness or scabs just make sure to use sunscreen and a good moisturiser. As I’ve completely overhauled my skincare with the addition of some products and the PMD tool, I’m only dealing with old pigmentation which is amazing, I’ve had no break-outs and my skin is clear and no to mention the pigmentation from the friction burn has faded considerably.

I do this every 6 or 7 days – depends on what I might have planned I push it forward or ahead (to land on the 6th or 7th day) but I make it a regular and also the skin has had time to rejuvenate and ready for the next treatment. It’s pretty simple and easy to use – I promise. It sounds crazy, due to the suction but I find it gentle and non-abrasive. I practiced with the dummy disc first to get use to holding my skin taut and the motion and proceeded to use the chosen disc (green). Within 2 months I’d say it’s done quite well with helping my skin texture, without a doubt the next morning after using this, AH-MAZ-ING.
You can see how slowly but surely it got there from the 1st – 22nd November but as I was still using the system mentioned above I had to finish and then begin the week afterwards....and the last picture is taken on the 5th February.  It beats a manual exfoliator but I do incorporate that during the week. I can now see why this is a popular system, I’m just about ready to now replace my discs but during colder months this would help those who suffer from sensitive/dry skin because it’ll help get rid of the dead skin – while that’s not my issue, it has helped my skin with hyperpigmentation but to keep it smooth and bright during the cold months.

I always have hemp seed oil in my oil box, it’s got a lot of health benefits. The oil itself is produced from the seeds of the Cannabis plant – it doesn’t contain THC which is the active ingredient within marijuana – it comes from a variety of cannabis that has low concentration of THC.
It contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, essential fats needed to maintain healthy cells, nerves and brain function. Hemp when used for topical benefits has amazing cleansing and moisturising properties, it’s also good to prevent rashes and relief for acne.

For that reason, I decided to try Hempz lip balm. As the fat in hemp are similar to those found in the skin, it makes it an effective moisturiser and protectant for skin as it’ll increase the elasticity of the skin, bringing relief & preventing dry, tired or dehydrated skin. Not to forget it also adds vitamin D to the skin, allowing calcium into the skin which is needed for soft, smooth skin.

It’s this cold and central heating combination that lip care needs to be upped and I hate the feeling of dry, tight lips – ew, it’s just not me. I exfoliate my lips often because it prevents that but it also needs something on top to help keep it smooth and in good condition. In the short time of using this, I’m surprised this gluten free, 100% vegan and THC-free & 100% pure natural hemp seed oil lip balm is helping a great deal. I has a sweet citrus flavour – hello, I love citrus. What a combination hemp + citrus = smooth, kissable lips.

This collection features 6 beautiful shades, it embodies the flawless chic that launched the brand in Las Vegas in 1981 – oh hello 80s inspired revival, gimme more! After essie’s 35th Anniversary retro revival collection last year, essie fans now have the opportunity to re-ignite the passion we all have for those hard to find legendary essie shades.

The design on the cap has a gold star that mimics the original sign at the Stardust Casino – so get a piece of Vegas and retro essie, what more can you ask for besides these within your collection!?

On the nail wheel, I swatched all six shades:
Pure Chiffon: cream tan (pearl)
Flawless: Cherry Blossom Pink (crème)
Chastity: Cotton Candy Pink (crème)
Prima Bella: Shocking Pink pearlescent shimmer (shimmer)
Sweet Tart: Bark / Light grey lavender with pearlescent shimmer (shimmer)
Bold Beauty: Deep Red (crème)

- I did three coats for all just to get an even coating but it could be done possibly within 2 especially the darker shades. Fast drying as always - essie never disappoints me with it's drying time it's one of the reason it keeps me willing to try them again & again.

Let me know your opinions on the range? Are we loving the 80s Las Vegas / essie vibe?

Even though I have an Olive complexion sometimes having that nice glow to the skin can be helpful to look healthy, even if it's dull outside - who cares! I've tried many brands over the years with tanning. Instant wash off, long lasting, no smell, no streaks - you name it. I'm no pro at tanning and even felt maybe I should recruit a professional tanner to come and apply my tan on for me to look flawless but it'll defeat the point lol!

About Bellamianta Luxury Tanning

Bellamianta are a new brand from Ireland. Their brand aims to deliver products within their range that have clean ingredients, making it free from: Parabens, Harsh Chemicals, Genetically modified ingredients (GMO’s), Parfume, Alcohol, Animal derivatives, Petrochemicals, Sulphates & Silicones. Giving a clean, nutritious luxury tanning products. The formula has built in nourishment, hydration and extremely fast drying allowing a streak free tan. The tans ultra-smart hydration system makes sure the tan drives in 60 seconds...The light formula works to continuously hydrate the skin ensuring the tan wears off evenly with no snakeskin effect!!!

I was sent a beautiful set of products from Bellamianta (thank you once again). Besides the fact they said that there's no snakeskin effect as the tan wears off, it was that there's not meant to be any of that dreaded self tanning biscuit smell *gags* that puts me off tremendously with self tans - so when I saw a candle included and told that their tan smells so good they made a candle - when I smelt the candle - give me more!!! Made me look forward to trying the tan even more.

Bellamianta Self Tanning Lotion.
As it's fast drying it makes the tans ready to wear as they'll develop in 2 - 4 hours. The darker you want the shade, the longer you keep it on and they'll be no transfer on clothes. "The natural ingredients work with the skin's natural melanin to provide a perfectly natural, golden tone every time which becomes water resistant and will last up to 7 days."

Bellamianta Rapid Mousse.
The tan has a 60 second fast dry system, the tans are ready to wear and will develop into a light tan after 2hrs, medium tan after 3 hrs and a dark tan after 4hrs+ with no transfer onto clothes. It gives an golden olive tone which is perfect for me as I have yellow undertones, olive skin already so having something that will not give a tangoed appearance is a must.

Directions: Wax or shave 24hrs before tanning. Apply to clean exfoliated skin, no deodorant, makeup or perfume. Polished nails will prevent staining (or wipe with remover after application). Using your luxury Bellamianta Luxury Tanning Mitt, apply formula in circular motion starting from the legs upwards.Never apply product directly to the hands or feet as it will be to dark, use the residue on the mitt at the end.

My Experience of Bellamianta Luxury Tanning

I chose to use this on my legs first, soaked in the bath the night before, exfoliated, using the  Bellamianta Exfoliating Mitt (but I do use a Turkish spa mitt once a week and a salux towel daily) & shaved to make sure that my skin was ready for the tanning next morning. The tan so surprisingly smells pleasing and shockingly does not dry to a biscuit scent. It dried so quickly on the skin as described it made it easy to apply the tan which I did in circular motions and buffed it into the skin. The first time I left it on for I believe just about 2 hours and it gave me a nice sunkissed appearance..as seen below.
The second time I decided to go further and leave it on for 4 hours and this was done on the day before xmas eve (I apologise no photos, you know Christmas - busy). Come Christmas Day when I mentioned the tan, family members were shocked (I was more shocked they thought I could gain such a colour in December) to find that it was a fake tan and said it shows how good it looked because it wasn't orange. Now what made me love it even more was there actually wasn't any snake skin effect, it fades so naturally it's insane - one of those 'try and see for yourself' products. I've tried others that shade and make me itch cos it dries out the skin - not the case with this, I tanned twice within one month of using it I was loving the results and appearance that much. I can testify there's no transfer because I have white sheets and they've stayed white - phew.

If anyone was to look through my nail box, you’d notice a lot of essie, 99% essie is a lot fairer to say. I like the colour variety for my personal taste, the consistency, how quickly they dry – it works for me and that’s why I stick with the brand. Besides their normal polish range, they launched a gel couture range last year (read here). Last month they released 6 new limited edition shades for their gel couture ballet nude’s collection. Shades range from a misty rose to a soft shimmer grey.

Since I got this range the other week, I’ve had their periwinkle powder blue on my nails – now for me to wear something different than nudes or white – is saying a lot. I think it’s definitely one of my favourite shades.

On the nail wheel, I swatched all six shades:
Satin Slipper: Champagne Ivory – I used 3 coats for an even finish.
Lace Me Up: Misty Rose Pink – 3 coats for an even finish.
Hold the Position: Coral Peach Pink – 2 coats for an even finish, could push for 3 if needed.
At the Barre: Cinnamon Nude – 2 coats for an even finish.
Perfect Posture: Periwinkle Powder Blue – 2 coats on my nails, possibly 3 if needed.
Closing Night: Soft Shimmer Grey – 2 coats.

What makes these so easy to always use is there's no fuss with a lamp to cure the gel, simply purchase the top coat that goes with this and it seals it all in, it really reminds me of gel with how it sets with the coat and as it starts to wear off it grows out & feathers away insteads of chips which is a lot more sightly than the chipping. I've so far got nearly two weeks of wear and for me that's a lot.
