Long days mean you need to unwind. Whether you've been at home looking after children, been at work or just had a hard day. Emperor's Dream £4.99 is made from fresh Mint, Fennel Seed and purifying Meadowsweet to allow you to relax after a hard long day. I love mint as it's relaxing for the stomach. Fennel was already being used as a natural digestive aid in ancient India. The one thing I was scared of was the liquorice but the liquorice is very faint in the taste and quite relaxing. This tea could also be ideal after a nice bath or steam shower, ready for some relaxation for the rest of the evening, sip on this and lay back.
While you're in your car, put this Clary Sage Car Perfume £10.00 on your car air vent to give your car a second home feeling while you're travelling to and fro. The clary sage has health benefits of anti-depressants, anticonvulsive, antispasmodic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac and many more benefits to keep you calm and relaxed. It'll last 6-8 weeks depending on the usage of the air vent.

How do you keep relaxed during the busy last quarter of the year?

RITUALS Emperor's Dream Tea

Let me start off with this post by saying, I'm now 16 days - no cheese. Cheese had to be my biggest vice and the hardest thing to ween myself off. I'm hoping there's no falling off the wagon with that but it's it was my crack.

Hoots Snacks Pickled Onion Flavour 60p are baked not fried multigrain small and toast like snack. Appetising and not at all overbearing, really delicious. They come in smoked bacon, salt and pepper, cheese & onion and salt & vinegar flavour. I really wish these were available in national supermarkets but all in time. Healthy snacks at 160 calories for you counters.

I eat sweet potato chips frequently and when I do them, I like to sprinkle spice on them for flavour, so you can imagine when I saw the Taste Spice Magic BBQ Dust £2.95 in the box I was in love as there's one thing I miss and it's BBQ sauce/seasoning. This really gives it a nice extra kick.

Skin Likes Natural Deodorant £4.95 uses a mix of plant based therapeutic essential oils for the odour stopping formula. The owners Jim & Sheila have a medicinal background. Jim has worked in complementary medicine since 1999, while Sheila worked as a hospital nurse then going on to train as a clinical aromatherapist, this is where her interest in plant based therapeutic essential oils arose. I'm going to definitely try this out once my current deodorant is finished and look forward to reviewing this.

Bear Paws (assorted flavours) 60p the snack bag I got is orange & strawberry. The texture reminds me of jelly babies!! That rubbery chewy texture that I've longed for and missed ha! It's here! There's nothing added too it, they taste true enough to the fruit. The ingredients are apples, pears, oranges, strawberries and a little sweet potato extract. I wasn't keen on the smell in the bag - I'm a sniffer lol but the taste I'm highly keen on.

A naturally sweet super bar, Creative Nature Blissful Berry Snack Bar 99p has no added sugars or preservatives. 100% natural, wheats, GMO and dairy free and low fat. It's cold pressed so all it's nutrients are locked in. Contains Goji Berries, Cranberries and a hint of Strawberry

Ombar Organic Coco Mylk Bar £1.99 has the rich, dark chocolate taste. Made from raw cacao from Ecuador. When you eat this it gets creamy due to the coconut cream that is soruced from independent farmers in Java.

Nothing But Fruit Pineapple & Grape Snack £1.20 My nan ate these as she likes snacks like this, she was pleased, they have a crunch to them. All that is done is that the fruits are cut, water drained out and sealed in a bag. The fruits are freeze dried slices. This snack gives you, your 1 of your 5 a day.

I've since introduced this box to a few vegan people I've encountered over the last month and I'm hoping it'll help them find other companies that do snacks and food alternatives as I always wonder what full time vegan's eat. I'm still making my transition and finding what I love and I sometimes feel unless you live in a cosmopolitan area where do you go and find such items.

Do you have a specific lifestyle with food?

After my disastrous experience using Free From Frizz, the 6 weeks it was meant to last, ended up turning into nearly 20 weeks of having this in my hair, my curls were limp, strung out, dry and just pretty much useless. Unless I used heat my curls wouldn't 'activate' and that really wasn't happening.

I ended up reverting back to using sulphates to get the extra keratin out my hair, head and shoulders almost DAILY. Protective hairstyles during the day and braids at night, trying to give my hair a rest in a sense. I didn't want to use my expensive curly hair products because I was washing my hair daily and it would of been a waste but I was sent some John Frieda Curl products to try out and I also purchased a conditioner to try and remind my hair what it's supposed to do. The products are :- Go Curlier Heat-Activated Spray*, Unwind Curls Calming Créme*, Miraculous Recovery Creme Serum*, Dream Curls Conditioner.
The only one I really can't speak much on is the heat activated spray because I don't like to use heat on my hair much and at the time I didn't want to reverse what I was trying to fix.

I was using the conditioner for my hair to remind itself of how it should behave. It has a good slip to it, that's probably the Dimethicone - if you're against the cones - this conditioner isn't for you. It helped nicely to detangle the hair during the wash plus the formula is quite watery but I do always detangle beforeheand but I wouldn't say it was very moisturising as a conditioner for me but it was doing the job during my transitioning.

The calming cremé, this too has cones in the ingredients, I found that less is more, otherwise it dries into a crinkly hard formula and leaves cripsy curls. It loosens my curl pattern slightly and my hair wasn't as big as normally. I'd put the miraculous recovery cremé afterwards once it's nearly dried to eliminate any frizz halo that might like to appear. This I don't mind so much it's light and watery and it's not bad on my ends which tend to be drier due to the colour.

All in all I'm not 100% keen on the range but it did help to get some curls back into my hair after keratin experience, cut and colour. I'm just going to have to learn to stick to my hair routine and forget keratin treatments - EVIL!

Have you tried anything from the John Frieda range that you love?

I was bored, I was sick randomly last night and this morning but I wanted to do something to occupy my mind as I'd spent most of the week unwell and quite unproductive too. I don't know why I decided to cover every inch of my head and neck in black grease paint but hey that's what happened and this is what appeared.

Not wearable but fun & different.

Covered my face using Makeup Forever Flash Palette, using the black grease paint, covered my face, hairline, ears and neck. Mixed Sugarpill Cosmetics Chromalust in Goldilux and Illamasqua Sealing Gel together & used a syringe to pick up the gold and drop it under my eyelashes and let it run downwards as tears and on my bottom lip slightly. Using that same gold, I used a disposable mascara wand and dipped it in and brushed it over some false lashes.

I think the most I fuss about teeth whitening is by purchasing teeth whitening toothpaste which are more miss than hits unfortunately. I don't see much progress but it never deteres me from continuously purchasing them. When I was contacted by Smile Brilliant, I thought why not, I was just talking about teeth whitening so it was such a coincidence - almost fate. I was sent their Teeth Whitening Trays pack.

This contains:
  • 3 base pastes
  • 3 catalyst pastes
  • 1 pair of impression trays
  • 3 professional teeth whitening syringes
  • 3 desensitizing syringes.
I followed the instructions card included in the pack on how to do the impressions. Using my phone as a stopwatch I inserted one tray at a time for 2 minutes and that's what I was left with above. Ready to send off and get my trays made by the lab. These were returned to me from the states pretty fast, I think just over a week?

Firstly I cleaned my trays and left them to dry and the next day decided to whiten my teeth. I brushed and flossed & I used the desensitizing gel as I do suffer from sensitive teeth, this was left on for 20 minutes and done 60 minutes before the teeth whitening. I put too much whitening on and it made the gums very uncomfortable as it overlapped and kind of burned, so 20 minutes was the minimum time I used it for. Trays fit PERFECTLY. There was no slip, capped my teeth to a T. I was chuffed as I thought I'd botched those impressions kudos to me haha!

I believe it was the 3rd treatment I ditched the desensitizing gel, I found my teeth weren't so sensitive to the whitening but I'm glad it's included in the pack because you just never know how your teeth may react.

I've used this for about two months now and I might use it twice a week and my saliva filled mouth has got use to the trays and I can handle to use it for roughly 2 hours. (it can be used from 20 minutes - 3 hours max) I started to noticed the stains on my teeth started to lift and my teeth get brighter, I sin when it comes to things that can stain.

Here's my frustration. I took before photos and now I can't find them on my SD card / external hard-drive or on my laptop, even went as far as to do a recovery but no luck which is annoying me cos I like to do before and afters to show the results of a product as you know - if I find it I will update but in the after photo you might be able to see the fading stains in between my teeth faintly.

The only negative I have is that it's not readily available in the UK. I'd love to be able to just pop into Boots - It's a con for me as I'd love it to be easier to get more gel as it's a treatment I'd like to continue. Though they do ship worldwide. For 9 syringes it's around $60 which is around £36.48 so it's not too bad. I'm currently on my last syringe now but 100% happy with the results. I better find me a toothpaste that can keep the stains away.

Smile Brilliant Teeth Whitening Trays

Bye August - Hello September!

If you know me well, you'll know I'm such a Boy George x Culture Club fan. I'm a baby of the 80s and a child of the 90s (thanks mum!) two of the best decades to be associated with. To me the 80s represented something that has yet to ever be seen again but I'm grateful enough that it even happened, the make-up, the style, the mash of cultures, have forever been moulded and to me Boy George was one of those. At the forefront of the New Romantic genre, flamboyant, unapologetic and talented.
This was fun to do and it's just so fun to use and wear colours. It's quite funny as within my make-up tower and drawers I've got so many colours but rarely reach for them, boo! So of course this look was inspired and born.
Deets on the Beat:
Using the yellow from my MakeUp Forever 12 Flash Palette as my base I applied onto my lower lid. Pat on a yellow, I chose MAC Cosmetics Pigment -Primary Yellow , pat it on to make it more vibrant. On a smaller brush apply it under the tear duct. From the inner corner up to the brows apply a pink, I used MAC Cosmetics Eyeshadow - Passionate and blend heavily onto the nose downwards, using the small brush from before, the other side I take the Passionate and apply just next to the Primary Yellow.

Taking a blue, I love Stargazer Eye Dust #2 smudge it onto the lower lash line, start from where Passionate ends, blend the outer eye until it's faded. Taking the pink from GOSH Cosmetics 9 Shades - To Play with in Vegas* I went over the brow bone. Using Illamasqua Precision Gel Liner, I wing out my eye, line my waterline top & bottom.

The brows don't have to be truly defined, just bushy and bold, I brushed them upwards with a spoolie and ran GOSH Cosmetics Defining Brow Gel - Black* through them. Finish the eyes off using Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara*

80's make-up base was matte and powdery. I used Illamasqua Matte Primer and Eve Lom Radiance Lift Foundation for my skin base. I took Sleek MakeUP Blusher - Fernberry and ran it across my hairline and a sharp line under my cheek bone, blended it out before going over it with a pink blush (unknown blush in my drawer, sorry!)Dipping back into my MakeUp Forever 12 Flash Palette, I used the pink and gave myself a bright pink pout, any bright matte pink lipstick would do, MAC Candy Yum Yum is one recommendation.

To finish it off and to get quite a powdered appearance, I used VICHY Dermablend Loose Setting Powder under the eyes before finishing off completely all over with Ben Nye Translucent Neutral Powder.
