GlossyBox - February 2012 The Fashion Week Edition

Monday, February 20, 2012

Shocked by how quickly this box came around this month. When I saw the van postman, I didn't expect to see the GlossyBox* in hand. Yet here it is The Fashion Week Edition

Unless your completely oblivious or uninterested to the fact it has been London Fashion Week since last week Friday. This GlossyBox would be our fashion week saviour with the 5 essentials we would need to keep looking glamorous with that being said let's see what's in this box :

DuWop Venom Gloss full size £16 - 10.4ml | box size 5ml
BM Beauty Pure Mineral Eyeshadow "Noir" full size £7.00 - 2g | box size 1g
Dr. Bronner's Magic Liquid Soap "Hemp Rose" full size £1.99 - 59ml | box size 59ml
Como Shambhala Invigorate Body Lotion full size £20 - 300ml | box size 50ml
Paul Mitchell Round Trip - Liquid Curl Definer full size £12.95 - 200ml | box size 25ml

The only full sized product in "The Fashion Week Edition" is the Dr. Bronner's Magic Liquid Soap.

DuWop Venom Gloss - Lip Swatch
The gloss is very subtle with it's colouring compared to how it is in the tube. It lives slight shimmering on the lips that catch the light. Venom Gloss has a cinnamon scent that I refer to as potpurri ( oh didn't I tell you, potpurri & me *side eye* ) I did notice my lips tingled and then when I read the bottom of the card I noticed it does give a warning to that.

Swatching the BM Beauty Pure Mineral Eyeshadow. I tried out different bases for it.
1. UDPP  2. MAC Mixing Eyeliner Medium 3. MAC Fix+

Initial Reaction on The Fashion Week Edition :

Meh!

Why?

I just wasn't honestly moved. If we was to break it down to the contents of the box and the benefits it would provide for this jet setting front row fashion week diva I'd say :

"Dr Bronnner Magic Soap would be amazing to wake up the skin and give it the organic love it deserves and to keep it bright, soft and manageable. The Invigorate Body Lotion that has peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus and geranium essential oils would be good for someone who can stand the smell of lavender, for me - personally it gives me a headache but for others it would be a calming scent to have lingering on the body. Pure mineral eyeshadow and lip gloss would give the favourite look of most us beauty buffs - smoky eyes and nude lips. Also the Paul Mitchell curl definer would be fantastic for someone who wants to have their hair curly but what's to tame the straight mane?"

Yet once again I've been introduced to more brands such as DuWop, BM Beauty & Como Shambhala.

GlossyBox also tease us with this card inside....

  6. I always hear wonderful things about Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap. I use it to clean my make-up brushes, but I just don't think I'd like it on my skin. It just feels and smells a little weird to me. Do a review, please!

I've been thinking of subscribing to either Glossybox or something similar to it, so I really look forward to posts like these.

    1. Yeah I have a guest post on Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap HERE but I'm intrigued how it'll work for me too. So I'll be sure to do that.

I read that some people use it to wash their makeup brushes which I would of never of thought - not sure why. I hope these posts help you to decide :)
