Give A Deranged Dolly A Home This Xmas

Monday, November 29, 2010

Give a 22 year old doll a home at xmas .

I wanted it to be 'deranged' but my nan tells me I don't look deranged more sad so maybe I should of added some stitches . Yet I am sad as I have no home for xmas - ( no-one knew Chucky was deranged ) .......
I did this look a week ago & have been quite lazy with it all & it's more of a Halloween look than Christmas but what the hey.

Back with experimenting with the cut crease, applied NYX jumbo pencil in milk from my outer eye upwards. I put tape from the crease up to my hairline (over where I just applied the NYX pencil) & using a dark brown from my Jemma Kidd quad I cut the crease above the gold & white.

Winged eyeliner and also a very low winged eye underneath with black shading coming from it & false eyelashes.

I also brought up the colour from my brow bone all the way up to my hairline

I decided on doing this type of gradient lip after seeing the tutorial from Nymphette you can view it here - ( highly recommend to check her out ) The use of my black eyeliner with black lipstick & red lipstick works ideal for me in this look. So simple but creates a great look .

I decided on a lot of shading & contouring. Down the nose, the cheeks, the jaw line & of course on the eyes.

FOTD : Chestnuts Falling

Saturday, November 27, 2010

I think, ACHOO!, I have the flu. I'm sneezing, and ACHOO! ACHOO! I'm not sure what, ACHOO!, to do. You say, ACHOO!, don't sneeze on you? ACHOO! Whoops. Now you've got it too. --Kenn Nesbitt

- I got flu, could you tell by the poem !?! I did this FOTD on Thursday the day that was bitterly cold and my symptoms decided to over ride my body hours after I did this look.
*sob story*
I haven't had a cold / flu in over two years now so besides from having shingles last year my body hasn't felt this run down in a while.
- Bitch over lol....

Once again I dipped into my HG MAC Spiced Chocolate Quad, I think it's such a great palette for this time of year ( all year ) I did only use the Sweet Chestnut out of it and Nehru to complete the look.

& can I say hello, loving my AVON supershock gel eyeliner pencil.

AVON Luxe Lace

AVON Luxe Lace Collection.

This is my November order. I normally like to collect a few make-up bits from AVON normally they are re-purchases. I decided to get the two supershock gel eyeliners always as my mascara re-purchase.

AVON Luxe Lace Supershock Mascara.

What I love about this mascara wand is that it's not too thin or too big but it is quite a reasonable sized wand. I notice that when I use it, it doesn't clump on the wand or over packs itself. To get an idea of the size of the wand this is it against the NO7 exceptional definition mascara, as that is quite a thin wand with multiple bristles.

The Luxe Lace Collection has such gorgeous packaging. The one on the right is the normal packaging for SuperShock but I can't get over how chic the pattern is on the luxe lace ...It's a mascara I have repurchased as it's a mascara I love.

Price : £8.00
Purchase : AVON Online / AVON Representative.

Luxe Lace Supershock Gel Eyeliner Pencil

Gel eyeliner *thumbs up* you guys know I love it right ?! Especially for my waterline it's a God send. Trouble is, I normally end up with my pots drying out before I finish which is a nightmare. Therefore I've decided to try an gel eyeliner pencil for staying power. I cannot wait to try this out and give it a good ol' test run. I've heard positive things constantly about this product but will it be a good substitute for me or even replacement for gel eyeliner pots.

Due to this being a gel pencil it's soft and the application is smooth and you don't even have to be heavy handed, such light soft strokes give you the colour pay off you need.

Price : £3.00 (normally £6.00)
Purchase : AVON Online / AVON Representative.

The look of the Avon Luxe Lace True colour Eyeshadow Quad in Lace Hues is drawing me in but the one thing I have had previously when it comes to AVON and eyeshadow I don't get great colour pay off or great ease of use. Do you shop with AVON ?!

EOTD : Cutting That Crease !

Friday, November 19, 2010

Today I attempted to do a cut crease !!!

I'm talking that deep dark cut crease that makes somebody go damn, you cut that crease like a pro'.

So first attempt I cut that crease like an amateur but truth be told, I am when it comes to cut creasing.

I've had the Sleek Acid palette from when it was first released as a limited edition palette and staring at the colours I was taken a back to what I was going to do with the shades.

What I love about Sleek palettes are they do combine colours that are all usable with each other along with the high pigmentation they are workable.

I took the challenge today.

& yes this is what come about. I didn't apply any false lashes, now I'm thinking 'maybe I should of gone the whole hog ' Yet for a first attempt I'm pleased with myself & as the classic & truthful saying goes : practice makes perfect !

Products Used:

Sleek Acid Palette
Sleek Gel Eyeliner - Dominatrix
AVON Supershock mascara

Feedback is more than welcome & tips on creasing if you have any ?!

Do you cut the crease like a pro ?

Good Things “ Stop That Spot ! ” Review

Sunday, November 14, 2010

The Blurbs :
This brilliant anti-bacterial gel contains active extracts of willow bark, liquorice, papaya and acai to help tackle unwanted breakouts.

I've had this for near enough a month. Used it on various 'spots' that have appeared !
Yet last Wednesday I had a spot appear, right in my smile line within hours this painful red horrid creature appeared.

So I took this out and applied this after cleaning my face with my Liz Earle skincare routine . I was so tired I never bothered to take a picture just jumped into bed but in the morning I was so amazed, how quickly it went down, the redness was very mild and by Friday the spot had disappeared completely.

I found it does work better with spots that have a head on, which I don't get very often. Yet this is such a handy treatment gel to have IMO for my spots.

It smells sweet and it has a clear gel that comes out of a small nozzle and you don't need to apply a lot.

Directions :
Wash the affected area, preferably with STAY CLEAR cleanser, then dab on a little STOP THAT SPOT! gel. After that, leave well alone !

Price : £4.99
Available From : Boots

Hey new followers & old :o), I'm sorry that I haven't blogged in a while, hectic last couple of weeks. Got the last few days of the giveaway left, so get yourself entered.

Current Lip Combos

Sunday, November 07, 2010

I've not had much time this week to really 'do a face' so I've had to be looking for quick 5-10 minute looks. I decided as I didn't have much time to mess around with the eyes, I kept them simple with varied sized winged eyeliner & bold lips.

I've had a lip team of Barry M & AVON.

You all know I love red lips. As of late I've been loving pink lips too. My latest lip combo is :

Barry M Vibrant Pink & AVON Glazewear Extreme Pale Pink Shine
OR
Barry M Pillar Box & AVON Smooth Velvet Lip Colour Sassy

Sleek MakeUP Haul

Saturday, November 06, 2010

I'm so late with postings as of late, due to the fact I have workmen in my home it's been quite hard to get anything done so I'm grabbing the opportunity now while I can gain access. This haul you would of seen since last month. Yet what the heck.

I've been a gel liner user for over a year now. I prefer them to liquid sometimes they can work out costly compared to a liquid depending on the brand you go for.

I decided to purchase Sleek Ink Pot in Dominatrix for £3.99 give this a good go. The one thing I can never take with Gel liners is how quickly they can go hard. I'm not sure if it's where I store it or just after awhile the exposure to air allows it to go hard *shrugs*

onto the palettes.

These two palettes are Sleek Make-Ups first palettes with names for the shades. Makes a nice change to be able to put a name to a colour.

I'm not ecstatic about the packaging, the best packaging I personally think Sleek released was the Bohemian these ones look too child's play for my taste.

Looking forward to the sun next year to use the Good Girl palette. Can't wait to play once my house is finished.

Limited Edition available now at Superdrug or Sleek Make-Up's Wesbite £5.99 each.

NOTD : No Two Spots Are The Same

Tuesday, November 02, 2010

My nan is such a great sport when it comes down to me using her hand as a nail dummy.

Mine are in a weak state. Brittle, broken, beaten down, hanging. Get the drift !? Quite bored the other night, I asked her if I could borrow a finger which in turn became her whole hand kidnapped.

Products :

AVON Nailwear Pro : Sunshine
OPI: That's Berry Daring
ELF Nail Polish : Black
China Glaze : For Audrey

To get the outline, I used a fine brush that I took from a glitter eyeliner I have never used and put the brush to great use.

LUSH Ocean Salt & LUSH Crush Heartbreak

Monday, November 01, 2010

Ocean Salt Cleanser Coconut cream and sea salt scrub.
The Blurbs ;
Lime extracted in vodka and sea salt The antibacterial effects of lime and the trace of alcohol in the product is ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes. The minerals in sea salt soften as the salt scrubs away dirt and blockages

Cleansing lime, coconut and sea salt scrub. Ocean Salt comes from Rowena's love of all things scrubby. It is like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water, then cleansing and refreshing it with lemon, grapefruit and lime juices.

50% sea salt Fresh avocado and coconut give hydration back to thirsty skin, while violet leaf absolute calms and nurtures. Avocado and coconut fats The fruit contains unsaturated oil that rehydrates skin. Both avocado and coconut soothe the upper layers of skin and are very good for dryness.

Can't call this a review as I haven't used this for long as I'm trying to find a replacement for my heartbreak at the moment. The exfoliating particles (sea salt) can feel quite rough against the skin so don't scrub too hard. I found it can be a good body exfoliator.
Has anyone tried this ?
Price : £6:10
LUSH Crush Heartbreak
No this is no new LUSH product called 'Crush Heartbreak ' this is my LUSH Crush, Heartbreak. I received my LUSH times last month in the post and as usual had my flick through see what was new for the upcoming months and even looking at the permanent selection I was devastated to see the triangle over the Baby Face ....

Not 100% content with just seeing that I did contact LUSH via twitter to see if it was true and of course it was, well why lie lol

It's become part of my HG in my skincare routine, helped clear up my skin drastically. I feel like my love is being taken away from me. No word on exactly when it's going to stop being stocked but when I asked inside my local store the sale assistant said : "They are having problems getting the ingredients to make Baby Face" quite sad. Stocking up like a crazed woman at the moment !
