Dolce Vanity: Tans for WOC

You may or may not of heard about this bloggers project.

It's been a lengthy few weeks organising this, Been really busy trying to find & organise bloggers to participate, designing the logo, PR & a secret.

The brand that started it all off was Abi O - BeauBronz a few of us UK beauty bloggers were contacted to review the shimmer tan boost which lead to Annie asking on Twitter for any other brands that are for WOC that she needed for a blog post!

I had told her that I was contacted by a brand (Abi O) & she asked if she could use my results on her blog, I said yeah, then suggested should we collage them and feature them on each others.
Annie responded "Yeah!! The big tanning project" and I said "The big tanning project for WOC!"

Just from that it got Hafsa telling us about Karamel & Brown - so I invited her into the project, Stephanie tweeted us saying she was interested and just from there we started to get a buzz.....

The Power of Twitter!

We decided to get women who ranged from Olive to Dark by using MAC shades as it's quite a common foundation to find our bloggers.

We both did twitter call-outs & a blog post advertising this project.

I had to put people into groups, just to make it a little easier for me and to see where we was and what colours we needed. Deciding on an even number 2 for each group we neeeded 10 bloggers for the project.

Annie started to reach out to tanning brands, Abi O liked the idea of the project after seeing us talking about it on Twitter and agreed to get on board with the project while Karamel & Brown // Vita Liberata also agreed to our project. At this current time Annie is waiting on feedback from a few other brands so this project may continue beyond the 3! We did originally want 3 - 5, here's to hoping.

The point of this project isn't to find tans that make us darker. It's about finding those tans/bronzers that help give a healthy glow to women of colour. Banishing the idea of skin bleaching & that to be lighter is prettier, to be lighter is best to get that glow. Healthier options to get that glow & even out skin tones. By having women that range from Olive - Dark it gives us that opportunity to show the transition & how different brands products work for what skintone.

Each week we will all test & review the blog and link back to each others blog post of that relevant tan, deciding to use the Twitter #TFWOC to share our thoughts & links.
