PMD Kiss - Lip Plumping System.

Today is National Kissing Day so why not treat yourself to pillow plump soft lips? Being a convert of the PMD brand after using their PMD Personal Microderm Microdermabrasion, I was intrigued with being able to try their new and latest offering “PMD Kiss Lip Plumping System”. Aside from when people were injuring themselves by doing ‘The Kylie Jenner challenge’ and even slight mishaps from professionally lip fillers themselves.

About the device

The Kiss is an anti-aging lip treatment - handheld device, that uses patent pending Pulsating Vacuum Technology to safely plump the look of lips in 3 minutes, with results that last 3 – 5 hours. It works alongside PMD’s Smart Lip Plumping Serum. Continued daily use boosts collagen that increases the look of fullness, fades the appearance of lip lines & wrinkles and revitalizes natural lip colour.

Smart Lip Plumping Serum Ingredients:
Dimethicone, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Polyethylene, Beeswax, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Glyceryl Behenate, Silica, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Squalane
, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride
, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Menthone Glycerin Acetal, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Powder, Benzyl Nicotinate, Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline, Behenyl Behenate
Tribehenin, Phenoxyethanol.

Within the ingredients there are mostly silicones & waxes. Beeswax & Candelilla Wax which can help replace beeswax within products – but this contains both. It helps moisture loss, so you’ll find it within such products such as lip balms. Squalane, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride help to mimic the skin’s natural lipid chemistry. Lipids form our natural skin barrier which holds moisture. Sodium Hyaluronate is derived from hyaluronic acid (which is used in fillers such as Restylane) it has all the same benefits but it’s more easily absorbed & can penetrate the skin and hold water makes it a good ingredient for anti-aging. Menthone Glycerin Acetal is what gives this product its cooling effect. Dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline is based on plant-derived hydroxyproline (collagen) that helps against aging skin.

My Experience

How to use:
Before first use – charge The Kiss. It’s got a USB charger and needs to be charged for 2 hours max. You’ll see the 4 stationary red lights turn green once fully charged. As this comes with 2 changeable plumping tips small & large – the small is already on my device so I swapped it over for the large.

Making sure my lips were clean, free of makeup, lip balm, food whatever – kiss ass clean! I would then apply the cooling serum onto my top and bottom lip. It gives a sheen and the tingling takes a moment to kick in but it’s gentle.

Switch on the device by pressing the circle button on the front - press once for standard speed and twice for slow speed. Placing the plumping tip firmly & directly onto my lip it will create a tight seal and begin suction. Use The Kiss in 6 sections on the lips, you'll hear and feel it working. It gently pulls at that section of the lips allow it to pulse 15 - 20 times on each of the 6 sections.

The first time (14/6) I didn't notice much besides very rosey lips. I was pretty disappointed but as I have 8 days of continuous use, I want to see if there's a difference as days go on...
The one thing about the smart lip plumping serum is that it's somewhat moisturising but after using the system my lips need more balm. The lips over the week they would look a bit more rosey still, my lips didn't look as wrinkled. Some days it'll look more plump than others. The suction is quite gentle I find, it's not like a full on vacuum sensation that when you move the lip plumping system off that the seal pops, it's extremely gentle but you can feel the squeezing on your lips. It gives a slight plumping to the lips which is nice to have if you want to give it a little gentle plump. It would be interesting to see the results on someone who doesn't have as much plumpness in their lips as I do but I do think it's an easier & safer way to give the lips a kissable appearance.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you see a difference?
