When it comes to gifts, I think fragrances are in the top 5 if not top 3! It's pretty easy to just get someone their favourite perfume. I was contacted to by The Perfume Shop and was asked what my favourite fragrances are, so I gave a selection of notes and fragrances I love.

I've yet to find my signature scent, the day that comes it'll go in my Project Life notebook, I feel it adds to someone's character to have one, or you might just be too much of a fragrance lover to have just one go to scent. Notes I love are oriental, woody & fresh and floral. My collection has various brands from designer to celebrity such as Stella McCartney, YSL, Viktor & Rolf – then there’s the celeb perfumes such as Justin Bieber Rihanna, Britney & JLO.

The Perfume Shop decided to gift me with a Stella by Stella McCartney gift set based off my notes and fragrances choices. I have the limited edition design of Stella. For me it grew to not be an everyday perfume, it's within the Floral fragrance family it settles into a rose but slightly musky scent. It can be worn during the day but I feel I like it for a late evening, night time perfume. It's not hard to smell why Stella has grown to a cult like status over the 12 years it's been on the market.

The Perfume Shop - Stella Gift Set

Not long ago I reminded myself that I had a travel atomiser, what I had done with it, I don't know but looking back it was the Travalo Classic. I was bummed because I wanted to have an atomiser just to pop in my bag so it lessened things on my bag lady travels. Then I was contacted by Travalo - signs! I was sent 3 New Classics and 3 Milano atomisers. These are handy in many ways, they are good to pop into your daily bag, carry on for the plane or just travelling in general. You don't have to worry about your glass perfume bottle being destroyed. Both of these are Travalo Express compatible meaning that you can change the inner vial with another one so you can change your fragrance in seconds without having to spray it out or wait for it to finish. Being so simple it's easy for young and older to use them.

New Classic
You'll notice these come in a plastic tube, you just pull the bottom to get the atomiser out, with 10 different colours to choose from, there's one to suit almost everyone, the atomiser is extremely light even with 5ml of product inside. They stand at 86mm tall and you get 65 sprays out of it. There's no chance for spillage while transferring the liquid or while it's been transferred. I've experienced zero accidents. The spritz mist is quite different & I mean that by the way it sprays out the product, it almost gives a wide spray but not harsh, gentle and generous. Being able to take the take out the vial means that you can quickly refill and you can see how much you've got left through the window. Handy to have that's for sure and only if I knew what happened to my previous one.

Milano
How beautiful are these? Seriously! I was quite amazed at how well these ones are. Presented in it's own black box, it sits in the centre of the black foam, I'd say these are the higher end, luxury atomisers from the brand. They have a leatherette finish with polished metal accents. The Milano stands at 80mm tall, 65 sprays out of this 5ml vial, they come in 8 colours. The vial comes out just like the New Classic. This has more of a weight to it than the previous and could possibly be mistaken for a lipstick within your bag but to me they look extremely sexy as well as helpful.

With a blend of English Lavender, Sweet Basil, Jasmine, Chamomile Oil, Patchouli Oil and 5 other essential oils, this night spray has got some of the most relaxing oils known to man to aide a troubled mind and body. I go through periods of early nights and great sleeps and late nights and short sleeps, which mean deprived, low and miserable me.

To get the best out this spray it's advised to spray on your pillow, lay back and breathe in through your nose for 7 seconds and out through your mouth slowly for 11 seconds. I know there's a few breathing techniques to help you relax and sleep, I've yet to try those but I find I really have to be prepared to switch off my mind and allow my body to get to a state of rest. I have quite a lot of pillows on my bed, so I spray this on all of them as I sleep all over. It gives me something else to relax me after I've put my candles out, I put my humidifier on a timer and I will listen to something that helps my mind to forget anything and start to drift off.

The tranquility scent emits on the material for up to 12 hours, move around throughout the night and it'll continue to give off the scent to keep your senses in a relaxed state. You don't need a lot of it, if I'm honest a spray on a pillow is enough, you get this sudden burst of aroma and it settles but you can still smell it as you lay.

NEOM Perfect Night's Sleep Pillow Mist

These days I don't do much to my brows but when the Billion Dollar Brows brand email came around, I decided to give the brand a go. I've seen them on blogs, YouTube and Instagram. I decided to go for the Best Sellers Kit and Brow Buddy.
Brow Buddy
A tool that is designed to help those who are shaping their eyebrows. It'll help you to find where your brows should start, arch and end. I remember people use to say your brows should start from your outer part of your nose ended and people would end up with very short brows but if you start from where your nostril starts your brows come in more and look a lot more pleasing. Your arch where your iris ends and your brow ends in alignment of the corner of your eye. These come in two different colours, Pink & Grey/Silver, as you can see I've got the pink (favourite), within the box you get a white pencil. The pencil is there so you can line where the guide for your new brows. I used it and the only thing on my brows that needed tidying was my arch as I got lazy and my brows grow upper and lower so they needed cleaning up. My brows are slightly long in my opinion but I like the longevity of my brows. The Brow Buddy is handy for those wanting to do their brows at home and would just beat the old method of using a pencil to line up, because you get a very steady, straight line for more accuracy. My pencil was ineffective because the wood in the pencil was higher than the product, even when I sharpened it, it wouldn't remove it but I'm sure there not all like that, my product was just one that was bad but I have white eyeliner.
Best Sellers Kit
Hello, best friend. After seeing Kelley Baker Brows on Instagram and seeing her techniques, this kit became ideal for me to try out, she doesn't use this but what she uses in her kit, is very similar and this works AH-MA-ZING-LY! I got an urge over the weekend to use this and using the steps I saw, reshaped my brows a little.

In The Kit :

‣Universal Brow Pencil: Formulated to work with all skin tones & hair colors, this amazing eyebrow pencil goes on smooth and natural. Perfect for creating beautiful, natural brows whether you are a blonde or a brunette. Best of all, The Billion Dollar Brow Pencil is automatic, it always stays sharp and requires no pencil sharpener.
‣Brow Duo Pencil: Our Brow Duo Highlighter allows you to highlight your brow bone to add gorgeous definition and warmth. Works with any skin tone. Plus, for those on-the-go touchups, we’ve also added a handy universal concealer to the opposite end of the pencil.
‣Brow Gel: Our Brow Gel will lock in your look, giving your eyebrows a long-lasting, radiant glow while keeping them perfectly in place all day. It’s the perfect finishing touch for giving your brows a polished, perfectly manicured look.
‣Smudge Brush: This flat, synthetic brush is the ideal mate for applying creamy cosmetics like our Brow Duo Pencil.

I began by brushing my brows upwards and trimmed down my hairs. I like to keep my inner part of my brows a little longer so I rarely trim those.

Tweeze any strays away from the upper & lower area.

Using the highlighter I mark just a little way underneath my brows and take the smudge brush and in a windshield wiper motion up to the hairline but not in the hairline and bring the rest of the product downwards to blend it into the skin.

To fill in any sparse areas, I lightly stroke the brow pencil through the brows and extend the tail.
Taken from my Snapchat.

Taking the brow gel, set my brows and I always brush upwards and if needed slightly flatten the top, brushing outwards. This is one of the best brow gels I've used, doesn't look like I've got brow gel in and holds the hairs well.

The swatches from the two kits above. The brow pencil is universal and is meant to work well for blonde and brunette brow colours, it's a medium brown and it's ok to use throughout the brows but I find where it's a little sparse the colour is too light if you've got darker brows like my own. All in all, I love the best sellers kit, it's handy and you can get some nice defined brows. The Buddy Kit could be a very good tool for those who need a little help and even maybe those already who know about brows but want to do a reshape themselves. Billion Dollar Brows are available online and instore at Boots.

Billion Dollar Brows Best Sellers Kit & Brow Buddy Review

Bath bombs are increasingly popular, with a lot of online stores and established businesses also supplying them, the options are endless but sometimes being able to do things yourself is just as fun and can shave some hours away while at home at the weekend, especially on these cold winter afternoons. Beauty Kitchen have it sorted for those who love a spot of D.I.Y. Their Chill Me Create Your Own Bath Bombs jar has everything you need to make some bath bombs.
Contents include :
2x bath bomb moulds
Citric acid
Sodium bicarb
Chill me essential oil
Cranberry seeds & Wildflower seeds.
-The wildflower seeds, aren't to be put into the bath bomb moulds but are to be planted to help the bees!
Me and my nan made some over the weekend! It's pretty straight forward.

1. Sieve the contents of the sodium bicarb & citric acid into a bowl.
2. Empty the contents of the cranberry seeds into the mix - at this point I give it a mix to evenly disperse the seeds into the mixture.
3. Pour the contents of the Chill Me Oil
4. Mix it together
5. I decided to add some natural food colouring to give some colour - PINK FTW!
6. Take the mixture, test to see if it's damp like sand but not like wet sand. Put it into the mold and flatten the top.

You let it set for 15 minutes and no longer otherwise you'll not get it out. They say if it crumbles it needs more moisture and repeat certain given steps on the instruction sheet. They looked like little cupcakes and if someone didn't know any better - they'd walk into the kitchen and eat them lol. As tasty as they look, they're not edible, there's my warning!

These would make great gifts either for yourself to make and give away or to give to someone this Christmas to make their own.

Bomb Cosmetics - Little Hotties

I mentioned in my Dyson review that my skin had been in trouble from about August due to being ill a couple times and it all just came out in my skin. Now that it's getting back on the right track I'm going to share with you what I've been using in rotation.

I exfoliate my face first, I find it's better for my skin to get rid of the dead skin cells and it also helps to get rid of any residue of dirt or makeup that might be still on my face. In the morning I will use the Garnier Skin Naturals Pure Active Intensive Charcoal Scrub it contains ultra-absorbent Charcoal and 2% Salicylic Acid unfortunately it does have SLS but I've not experienced any drying or irritations. I rotate daily and use Vitamin C Microdermabrasion as it's very gentle but the skin feels very smooth afterwards. Nightly I use LUSH Ocean Salt, regular readers of Dolce Vanity know I'm just dedicated to Ocean Salt.

A brand I have never used before is Clinique but after reading a few reviews I decided to take a risk and buy this mini introductory kit Clinique 3-Step Intro Kit Skin Type 3 it contains a Liquid Facial Soap, Clarifying Lotion and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. Liquid Facial Soap leaves my face feeling so clean, not clean in a stripped way but it feels like I've got a lot of dirt off. I always use a liquid cleanser with my Magnitone BareFaced. I get rid of any blackheads that might be in my nose pores this way. Since I've stopped using that I have began using the Transformulas Miracle Daily Gylcol Priming Cleanser, not only does it cleanse but it exfoliates by weakening the bonds that hold the dead skin. The Clinique Clarifying Lotion I still have quite a bit of this as I mostly use the Pixi Glow Tonic, the few times I did use the clarifying lotion, my skin felt extra dry if used all over it's definitely one that my skin needs to be used on my oilier places such as my nose and forehead. The Pixi Glow Tonic it's been raved and raved about and I do, find it to be a nice and effective toner with 5% glycolic acid, I like that I can use it all over my face and neck.

One thing I've seen a lot on is Dermarollers. They have lots of needles on a roller that once rolled over the skin, it pricks the skin gently and tricks it into thinking that it's 'injured' and it needs repairing so it speeds up the repair process on the skin. I purchased this one ZGTS Derma Roller Titanium Micro Needle 1.0mm, the size was determined by the chart on the page for my skin needs and it's just for pigmentation and left over marks from spots. You don't want to roll over any 'active' spots as it'll spread to the rest of your face. I've learnt that I only need to do this on my cheeks, chin and jawline. I only do this once a week as the skin needs time to repair.

Fade Out White Protecting Day Cream & Fade Out White Brightening Night Cream are new additions for my moisturiser. I've taken week one photos as this claims to reduce pigmentation in 4 weeks. The active ingredient Niacinamide prevents melanin from reaching the skins upper layers, where it becomes visible. As the skin renews itself, new skin treated skin cells come to the surface and the dark areas disappear. This does contain silicones and parabens so if you're against those I wouldn't suggest it.

So far I've not had any other little breakouts and I'm mainly now just gradually getting my skintone even again.

Have you changed your face routine lately?

Some of these products may have been sent to me for review.

Skincare to help Pigmentation?

Now that we're in the colder months, for most of us our skin tones are becoming paler. Some of us ride with it, others grab for the faux tanning. That'so is a new company introduced to me and I was sent their Glam Body. This is an intensive tanning mousse. The instant tan develops within 3-4 hours and with claims of that non biscuit smell and zero skin patching/streaks it sounds like a tanner's dream. It's an 100% natural and paraben free tanning formula that'll give you a tan for 3-4 days and fade out naturally.

Key Ingredients & Benefits
Lecithin - a natural emollient that attracts water and acts as a moisturizer.
Leaf Extract - Acts as a moisturizer and helps protects the skin from UV damage and from free radical compounds which damage the cells and cause premature aging. It rejuvenates aged tissues and promotes healthy skin and is an excellent cleansing and detoxifying agent that has ability to remove dead skin cells and toxins while purifying the pores.
Ethylhexylglycerin - Used as a skin conditioner.
Palitoyl Pentapeptide - A skin conditioner known to have the ability to promote collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycan synthesis. This would result in an ability to restore skin thickness, which diminishes with age, and to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Arginine - An ingredient that has the ability to increase the skin’s oxygen consumption and to improve skin moisturization.
Pisum Sativum extract (pisum sativum (pea) extract): Contains vital amino acids and proteins necessary for the production of collagen and elastin. Also reinforces the skin’s natural defense in fighting free radicals.

Application
You can use, gloves, a mitt or your hands to apply this mousse. I decided to use a clean mitt. My legs had been freshly epilated and exfoliated the night before, making sure I had a smooth, clean and even base to apply the product onto.

Shaking the bottle for a few seconds I squirted a generous amount of mousse onto the mitt. It comes out white but you can start to see the mousse change colour as it gets into contact with the air. I worked from the bottom of my feet upwards. Taking care of areas such as around my ankles and the back of my feet.

There wasn't the distinctive smell of burnt biscuit that you'll normally get with self tanner but the sweet smell of the application could of been the almond scent that it has.

Application wasn't messy or sticky and pretty easy!

Results
Above my legs before the tanning. I used the same ISO level to capture both images. I took the last image after 3 hours because the sun was going to bed and I wanted to show the development. By the next day they were a lot browner, more a golden brown, there wasn't an orange tinge, no patches or streaking, I was very impressed. My only application mistake was I went a little too heavy around the back of my foot - nothing a little soap and water with my salux couldn't fix. I didn't find the colour to be overbearing for me, I think I'd love to do it as an all over tan at one point. Although my hands had a slight 'tan' smell to them even after washing them after application with warm water and soap and of course 2 showers later. It faded by the 2nd night. The tan is still going strong and I use my salux cloth to wash my skin daily so it gets an exfoliation regardless. The tan is still going strong and as it's fading there's no patching or flaking.

1908 the Converse brand was established, for over a century they've been delivering classic Chucks to us and being cemented within cultures and history, the brand has grown into apparel for men, women & children and of course their sunglasses & glasses collection! The Converse 21 glasses I was drawn to straight away, they reminded me of my last pair of glasses. I always went for a standard black frame but since my last pair I've been very partial to tortoise shell. It must of been fate...
These glasses standardly come with PENTAX standard single vision lenses, a scratch-resistant treatment, case and cloth. The design as you can see have the single star logo on the circle at the end of the temple with the logo font etched on the upper temple. They come in a brown tortoise shell only.
These were actually displayed within the male section but the best thing about these glasses are that they do work more in being unisex. I got an UltraClear, anti-reflective lens treatment put on these, it makes it good for flash photography and normally the glare from the flash on the lens spoils the photo when the light bounces off and gives another burst of light but there's not a single glare.
These also make you see clearly when you're watching t.v, computer monitors or the light glare through car windscreens and windows. Easily pair these with your chuck taylors. There comfortable to wear, the actual frame I believe are smaller than my last pair and feel as though they sit higher up on my nose, it could just be me none the less still comfortable and light. The anti-reflective glare is very useful and one I'd recommend as you're not blinded by burst of strong or strobing light. My eyesight is actually improving, there's a slight adjustment in my lens strength from my previous pair so all good news on the eye health & new eyewear!

Pots & Co. is the brain child of Julian Dyer, he learnt to cook under the tutelage French chef, while working in London to work in top restaurants as well as his own, he cooked at prestigious and private events and while at one of these, guest were so enamoured by his raspberry cassonade with a caramelised pistachio crust that they suggested he went into business. Hello, Pots & Co. They're palm sized pots, that are suitable for quick deserts. Within their ingredients they use real devon cream and cornish sea salt ( just like I use on my face ). When I was asked to try these, I thought why not they had some interesting flavours within their range such as Lemon & Lime Posset, Strawberries and Cream, Sticky Toffee Pudding and including the one I was sent, Vanilla & Chocolate. Pots & Co. also do 'little pots'.

Little Pot of Salted Caramel, a salted caramel and chocolate ganache, made with the finest cornish sea salt. It comes in a 50g little pot with a plastic un-foldable spoon in the lid. Perfect to pop in for part of lunch at work, on the go or at a picnic. As you can see it's smooth and slightly sticky, I expected if honest a sickly taste but there's not of that at all, both flavours seem to be balanced and work well together. The spoon allows you to get enjoy and eat more than if you was to use a larger spoon. If you do enjoy salted caramel this is one to try.

Ingredients : Whipping Cream (Milk) (25.5%), Milk Chocolate (25.5%) [Cocoa Mass, Cocoa Butter, Whole Milk Powder, Sugar, Emulsifier: Soya Lecithin, Natural Vanilla Flavouring], Double Cream (Milk) (17%), Dark Chocolate (9%) [Cocoa Mass, Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Emulsifier: Soya Lecithin, Natural Vanilla Flavouring], Whole Milk (9%), Free Range Pasteurised Egg Yolk (5.5%), Sugar, Butter (Milk), Glucose Syrup, Sea Salt.

Vanilla & Chocolate Pot, a smooth layer of chocolate ganache set on a light Madagascan vanilla cream. The chocolate layer is unbelievably soft once you break into it and you cut into the vanilla cream. I absolutely adored this, I felt I was in an advert where you see the women fall softly into ecstasy with the taste. It's light and heavenly and I don't feel guilty eating them at all. I'm excited to be able to taste some others from the range.

Ingredients : Cream Cheese (Milk) (26%) ^Cream (Milk), Skimmed Milk, Salt, Modified Tapioca Starch, Stabilisers: Xanthan Gum, Locust Bean Gum], Whipping Cream (Milk) (20%), Free Range Pasteurised Egg Yolk (11%), Sugar (11%), Double Cream (Milk) (9%), Water (8%), Whole Milk (8%), Dark Chocolate (5%) ^Cocoa Mass, Sugar Cocoa Butter, Emulsifier: Soya Lecithin, Natural Vanilla Flavouring], Cocoa Powder, Lemon Juice, Madagascan Vanilla, Gelling Agent: Pectin NH Nappage.

These are ready to eat once taken from the fridge and taken out. They don't have to be eaten all in one go - if you can resist but they'll need to be eaten with a day of opening. I think if you wanted a little treat or felt for a snack you can simply reach for one of these especially if you're feeling a little on the lazy side and don't want to make dessert for after dinner. There's another good side about Pots & Co. the ramekins are made from a clay that does not contaminate air, water or the earth & our reusable.

Pots & Co. products are suitable for vegetarians and gluten free. These are available to purchase at Ocado, Waitrose, Whole Foods, Harrods, Selfridges, Tesco & more.

I'd love to know if you've tried Pots & Co.? Would you want to try them?

TheVeganKind first introduced me to and made me love Quinoa, so seeing Quinola Mothergrain in another box was delightful but this one was the Quinola Kids but whatever is great for kids is also suitable for adults and it's described as a quick on the go meal for adults too. Quinola Mothergrain are all gluten free, organic and full of slow releasing carbs. You also get protein with iron and fibre. Ideal meal to have before the gym! Mediterranean Quinoa with tomato, courgette & carrot, Thai Quinoa with peas, carrots & coconut milk or Tex Mex with kidney beans, sweetcorn & tomato (which is dinner later). These are available to buy for £1.99 per packet.

Whoa! Ten Acre Crisps - The Story of When the Cheese Met the Onion are in a giant packaging. I love their cheese & onion crisps, they taste like no other brands, very fresh and raw tasting & without the cruelty you are still getting a good old nation favourite crisp flavour...in a large packet!

iChoc Choco Cookie Vegan Milk Chocolate Bar very sharp crispy, creamy vegan milk chocolate bar, one that does leave the taste buds buzzing. It's got little chunks of oreo style cookies within the chocolate bar, which gives the sharp cocoa taste I feel that comes through the main chocolate a subtle counteract balance.

Cocoa Libre Milk Chocolate Alternative Honeycomb Slab simply mouth wateringly, crunchy and indulgent. I can't say much else. Rice milk chocolate honeycomb on a chunky slab. Not an easy one to break and share *wink* These bars do not contain wheat, nuts, peanuts, dairy or gluten they are completely free of traces of these products, suitable for vegans due to the zero honey content & coeliacs.

When I saw the Hurraw! Chai Spice Lip Balm, it reminded me I haven't had chai in quite a while. It's got that spice smell, oft and lightly moisturising. I noticed it has black pepper, cinnamon, clove and vanilla within the ingredients for the blend and two of those I use as a plump for my lips - yes I know, my lips don't need to be any more plumper but hey!

Talk about a full box! 2 years one and TheVeganKind are still going and growing, it's been such a pleasure to be able to share their box for that duration and I thank them because they've exposed me to different brands and been able to try beauty & food products. I took a little snippet from an instagram post of theirs :
2 years ago, when we just launched TVK and our first boxes (only about 200 of them in the first month!) were packed in our kitchen and living room... !!!

I haven't used Depilatory cream in years. Two main reasons was because they never worked well for me and the smell. The smell is just eye-watering and nose tingling uncomfortable. Veet recently launched the Natural Inspirations with hair removal that includes oils within the ingredients. This one in particular has grapeseed oil and is for sensitive skin.

I decided to re-try hair removal cream. The one place that I would really see how it works is on the bikini line. Being that the hair is more coarse, I do want to see how it will work on the coarsest hair because if it works on that..it'll work elsewhere easily.

Within the box you get the hair removal tube and a double ended spatula. One side of the spatula you will use it spread on the cream evenly. Wait around 6 minutes and use the other side of the spatula and remove a small area to see if it's ready to be completely removed. Once I do that, I do notice that it removes very well but I do need to go over it with a razor just for a more cleaner feel as the hair can randomly cut some pieces off not as close to the hair root as I would like but it does an overall good job of removing the hair.

Ingredients
Aqua, Urea, Paraffinum Liquidum, Cetearyl Alcohol, Potassium Thioglycolate, Calcium Hydroxide, Talc, Ceteareth-20, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Magnesium Trisilicate, Parfum, Propylene Glycol, Lithium Magnesium Sodium Silicate, Sodium Gluconate, Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil, Acrylates Copolymer, Tocopherol, CI 77891

This hair removal as previous ones I have tried does still smell. Not pleasant but not as strong as I remember but it has been years. My friend has always said to me the smell reminds her of hair relaxer, while researching the ingredients I found out the active ingredient is a compound known as Potassium Thioglycolate. This is is one of many compounds that are derived from Thioglycolic Acid. You'll find Ammonium Thioglycolate aka perm salt which is an ingredient in relaxer is also derived from Thioglycolic Acid, the odour comes from the sulfur content that the Thioglycolic Acid contains. You'll notice that when you put the cream on the hair over minutes begins to lengthen and straighten like it would a hair relaxer for hair. It's breaking down the keratin bonds within the hair with the help of Calcium hydroxide so when you begin to remove it, it snaps off. Thioglycolate are less likely to irritate your skin but that's not to say there isn't irritants within the ingredients such as paraffinum liquidum and possibly the parfum. It's a shame to see Grapeseed Oil so far down on the ingredients list, I'd like to of seen it higher up to know there was more of it in but then I'm not a chemist and the ratio may be sufficient enough.

I did have a problem with using it the first couple times and I would probably bare the smell to have less irritated hair removal on my bikini line. As mentioned this one is for sensitive skin, there's also one for normal skin that contains shea butter. Also within the Veet Natural Inspirations range, you can find a waxing kit, that's for all skin types.

Veet Natural Inspirations Hair Removal Cream

Early on in the Summer I was looking into a humidifier for the health benefits, being that I was ill within a couple of months of each battle round of flu, I wanted to be able to breathe at night because my bedroom is probably one of the warmest in the house. Upstairs is already pretty warm due to heat rising, we've also got insulation in our walls of our house to keep the heat in and in my bedroom, I've got the hot water boiler and hot pipes. My bedroom is the medium sized room but there's not much room so you can only imagine, when it gets warm, it really gets warm. My bed is right by my radiator and the hot water tank is on the other side so I sit & lay in the middle of warmth. Not to sound ungrateful but who wants to age and be stuffy constantly because of central heating abuse?

When I was first made aware of the new Dyson Humidifier it made me see another humidifier on the market but they also pointed out the beauty benefits as well as the health benefits. We all know that central heating reeks havoc on our skin and hair by sucking out, all the moisture in the air. We then go outside, the cold chips away at our skin and even while in cars, we want the warmth but that's more dry air. Although it's cold, we're also combating heat too, all day and our skin & hair don't know how to act, besides with just dryness and irritation. Let me not forget it's flu & cold season.

What's a humidifier?
Humidifiers put back the moisture in the air that you're losing due to warm/low humidity conditions. Unlike products such as cooling systems such as air cons that lower the humidity in the air or central heating in the home that creates dry air. This humidifier is scientifically proven to hydrate dry air for a healthier environment.

Who's it good for?
Ideal for adults, children, newborns and allergy sufferers by maintaining the correct level of humidity within your home. It's the first humidifier to meet asthma and allergy friendly standards.

Get the best Beauty Sleep
The world’s first humidifier to receive dermatological accreditation from the Skin Health Alliance. Hydrate your home as well as helping retain your skin's natural moisture. Dyson engineers have invented a way to hydrate air hygienically, evenly and quietly.

Human skin is made up of three core layers subcutaneous fat (lower layer), dermis (middle layer) and epidermis (outermost layer).

The stratum corneum, which is in the epidermis, is made up of dead keratinocytes (90% of cells in the epidermis are keratinocytes. Which multiply and migrate upwards from the basal cell layer) . It's within this layer that, in healthy skin, effectively provides the skin's barrier function, regulating water loss from tissue inside the body & preventing irritants and substances from the external environment from spreading throughout the skin.

Features

Remote Control
It has a remote control included with the humidifier, if you're relaxing sometimes the last thing you want to do is get up every time to adjust the humidity, turn on the fan or even switch it off, you can do it all from a comfortable position.

Humidifier
‣ 10 fan speed settings to adjust and also 9 humidity settings (30 - 70%).

‣ The humidifier will not operate unless the target humidity setting is above the current room's humidity level. It'll adjust automatically to avoid excessive humidity. I have noticed the mist a few times, in certain lighting and against darker backgrounds. I notice it more when it's on the lowest setting. Gives me reassurance my new baby is working.

‣ Automatic mode is recommended due to the fact it'll target what the current room needs so you get the best out of it. Once it's reached an appropriate humidity level you'll find it adjusts and will switch itself ON or OFF to maintain. The fan will still run when the target level has been reached.

Fan
There's also a fan (solo) option, I'm ready to put my other fan away.

‣ When selecting fan mode, the blue light that indicates the humidifier is on, will now turn white. This gives a nice cool breeze, consistently, unlike fans that begin to blow warm air after working for awhile.

‣ 10 speed settings. Water isn't used for this feature.

Ultraviolet Cleanse™ technology
‣ Antibacterial technology, kills 99.9% of bacteria before the mist is projected into the room by exposing every drop of water to an ultraviolet light. No bacteria is harboured in the water unlike others on the market.

James Dyson says: “Humidifiers are a way to create a more hygienic environment at home. Using patented UV light technology our humidifier kills 99.9% of bacteria in the machine before projecting hydrated mist evenly throughout the room.”

My Thoughts
Dyson have officially branched into the beauty sector. Who'd have thought it?

Before setting it up think about where to put the device, Dyson advise to put it in a corner of a room facing towards the middle, I'm guessing so the moist air can spread outwards evenly. Best bets is to place it near a cooling or heating device that way the air can circulate effectively. Being my room isn't too flexible with that option, I put it near my door where the air can go towards the centre of my room.

- If this is moved while operating, it'll temporarily stop operating as the surface is 'unlevel', just as if the surface it's placed on isn't level, it won't work at all.

Filling the tap is simple. There's a white button that'll release the loop from the tank, then the tank from the white lower base. There's a red cap that you screw and remove and that's where you fill the tank with cold water (DO NOT add oils, scents etc.) to the top. Once filled, replace the cap, to carry it back to the base, use the handle provided for easier handling. Replace the tank to the base and the loop. Press the ON button and it'll light up blue to indicate humidity mode. Give it 3 minutes and it'll start to humidify. A piezoelectric transducer in the base of the machine, vibrating up to 1.7 million times a second, breaks the water down into microscopic particles, these are then drawn up through the loop amplifier and projected through the air using Air Multiplier™ technology.

Above is a close up of the air gaps.

I start it off on the auto feature because it gives the best humidity, if my room is pretty warm it starts off at the max which is 70 and gradually it comes down over time as the air in the room becomes more moist it comfortably adjusts itself to around 35 - 45%. It's able to measure both the temperature and moisture in the air by using an Intelligent Climate Control.

Most use for me is in the evening and just as I'm falling asleep I put the timer on for around 45 minutes and drift off, the humidifier is quiet enough for me, especially when the fan is set to low, it's got a calm breeze effect that comes from it.

Why I feel I can tell you this 100% works for me is because at the moment, weekly, I am using a dermaroller, that alone makes the skin very dry for the following couple of days afterwards as the skin is repairing itself but no amount of dry skin emollient has worked. Until, I noticed my skin isn't as dry as it use to be when using the dermaroller prior to using the humidifier.

Skin Health Alliance says: "The skin provides a vital barrier function for the body. Retaining its moisture is essential for maintaining its health. This is the first time the Skin Health Alliance has partnered with a globally recognized brand on a revolutionary new device offering people enhanced skin benefits by humidifying the environment around them. The SHA operates an independent accreditation scheme that acts as a beacon to people who want reassurance that the products they use are safe and deliver the benefits they claim.”

Warm air prior as I slept, took away anything needed to soothe the skin, the dryness of the skin after the dermaroller was deterring me from using it anymore but after the past few weeks I noticed it wasn't happening anymore. When I wake up my skin has a different texture which I expect but the uncomfortable dryness was gone and I honestly put it down to the humidifier, helping my skin retain the moisture it needs to heal.

It's become absolutely beneficial to me. I feel blessed and thankful to have it as it has helped my room conditions which in turn has began to benefit my skin, breathing and possibly my plants (they weren't surviving well). It can be used all year round and also be used elsewhere in the home to benefit others if need be.

But to keep the machine working there's of course cleaning duties....womp!! Weekly you do need to clean it, run over the air slots, empty the tank, rinse and wipe over the tank & also wipe the base dry if there's any spillage. For the monthly clean, which I'm nearing too, you need Citric Acid which you can get off Amazon or eBay.

Congrats for reaching the end of this post, I wanted to give you as much information as possible.

Have I sold it? - My mum already asked me to get her one for Christmas. Are you interested?

WARNING

It's very important to read the manual. The appliance and the remote control both contain magnets, so you don't want to place them near anything such as credit cards, SD cards, phones  or any other media storage device.
also if you or anyone in the home has a pacemaker or defibrillator avoid putting the remote in a pocket or on top of the appliance.

You also don't want to place this appliance near electrical sockets as you can imagine, the moist air being distributed directly near it, would be dangerous.

Dyson Humidifier Review

Rosie Fortescue from Made in Chelsea released her gel nail polish line 'Nailed London' this year. Within the range you get 28 shades which are the heart and soul of the triple-layer system, delivering high fashion colours formulated with innovative technology. 4 glitter effect polishes designed to sprinkle sparkle over any shade - a great way to customise your look. 1 base coat to protect and brighten the nails, providing a combination layer with properties that adhere to the nail and act as a colour magnet. 1 glossy top coat completing the self-cured, gel-like manicure and delivering an enviable wet-look finish.

This 3 steps gel polish claims it'll give you 2-3 days more than any other gelled product on the market. What makes it so innovative is the technology. The exclusive Dual Polymer Technology delivers a long-lasting, high shine finish. The Volcanic Glass provides strength during application while the shellac helps to protect the nails and a plant-derived, patented Plasticizer provides flexibility to lacquer.

I had the opportunity to review a couple of the colours Rosie's Red & Noodle Nude alongside the base & top coat.
Noodle Nude is quite a warm nude, one that Rosie thinks is a great colour for shorter nails and I agree most nudes and blush colours are good for shorter nails. Rosie's Red is a classic red, whenever I see red nails or lips, I just think glamour. It's rich in pigmentation and gives an overall polished look.

The base coat goes on smoothly and dries pretty fast ready for the application of your chosen gel nail wear. I only needed two coats of both polishes for it to be covered and even. The top coat I've found for myself one coat is best as anymore gel and it gets too 3D. With the red nearly dry the pigmentation of the red still managed to get onto the top coat brush and disperse into the bottle. Minor detail, it always happens with my reds and top coats. I found the couple of times I have worn this I get about 4-5 days before chipping starts to occur. I like the jelly feeling finish on this collection and the gloss, which upholds as long as you're wearing it.

I'd certainly give this brand a second look, especially to see what the other colours are like & once I've minimalised my nail polish collection some more.

The line is priced between £7 - £8.

Nailed London with Rosie Fortescue

The past few months I've been trialling a few of Cetaphil products, in particular the new Cetaphil Moisturising Body Mousse. I regularly use the holy grail Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser but I've not used anything else from the Cetaphil range until as of late...

Cetaphil Restoraderm Skin Restoring Body Wash is one of the best washes I've used, it's like a shower cream, I put it directly onto my skin and work the lather up and simply wash off. Over the past year I've notice my skin (on my body / not face) can get irritated especially with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate contained products. This is SLS free so it's ideal for skin that is sensitive, dry and eczema-prone skin but also for any skin type. My skin is left smooth, moisturised & prepped for the next step.

The Cetaphil Moisturising Body Mousse was pretty easy to use, it's a pump bottle and a few pumps of foam was ideal for one leg and my arms would only need a pump each. I found that there was no residue left over it absorbed so quickly. Whenever I think of a traditional mousse I think sticky although this wasn't the case. The skin felt moisturised, not greasy. I think it's a good product for skin that gets irritated easily as it's mild on the skin although it could be used for all skin types. I feel if you have extra dry areas on your body, such as the elbows and knees, you might want something more. The fact that it contains Glycerin (an ingredient I use in my hair) it gives reassurance that you've got something that is drawing and locking in moisture. There's also an ingredient called Dexpanthenol which is an emollient that helps irritated skin.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, this I've been using for a little while. I noticed that it's popular for people with sensitive & acne prone skin, as it's meant to be less irritating. Looking at the ingredients Aqua/water, cetyl alcohol, propylene glycol, butylparaben, methylparaben, propylparaben, sodium lauryl sulfate, stearyl alcohol. I noticed a great few amount of parabens & also sodium lauryl sulfate is in the ingredients, although quite far down in the list, next to last, but SLS can be an irritating ingredient to sensitive skin. Thankfully it's not been that to my face. It's gentle and helps remove dirt or left over make-up while cleaning my skin, I keep it handy but I don't use it to start to remove my make-up it's not effective in that manner.

You can purchase Cetaphil from Amazon UK, Boots and most pharmacies.

Cetaphil Moisturising Body Mousse & more.

You know it's really holiday season when collections are being brought out, especially with nail collections. ORLY this month are releasing the Infamous Holiday Collection.

The two that I have are Frenemy & Gossip Girl which are glitter finishes.

Frenemy is a dark grey jelly slightly black with holo microglitter and iridescent flakes. When I first apply it the coverage is mediocre, it needs at least three coats to get an even coverage but then you get this bold colour with subtle glitter running through. The flakes aren't too prominent and I only got a large flake on my thumbnail but if you get them near the nail edge it'll make tidying up a little hard. This was my favourite shade.
Gossip Girl is very festive nail polish, described as an opulent bronze glitter it has very fine gold and red microglitter that give a blend of colours with gold hexagon flakes running through it. Alone (reference above) it's the same as Frenemy it needs at least 3 coats (see below) for good coverage and be wary of the flakes sticking out at the nail edge. The flakes may poke out near the edges meaning that any catches on material could impose a messed up manicure and it makes tidying up around the nail edge not as clean. Although I've found it not to happen all the time and unlike other glitter polishes it's not so rough before a top coat goes over the top. This doesn't have a top coat but look at that reflection strobe.
Applying both polishes were smooth, the gripper cap as always makes it great to hold for a non-slip application. I found Frenemy to have more of a lighter texture from the bottle, almost watery but don't be put off by this as it's easy to build but just make sure each layer is near to dry because it's a jelly finish I found that if you just blop it on the finish can be a little '3D'. ORLY polishes are free from DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde.
