OST Original Pure Vitamin C 20 Serum

Knowing that I do like oils for the skin, seeing I've tried most of the HG oils such as, castor oil, EVOO, Jojoba, Sweet Almond Oil, Argan Oil it's only right that I now move onto .... Vitamin C! Talking to Donah of Sweetjelly bean the other night, I said to her, I really want to simply my routine. As bloggers we try so much and while we know within a month or so what's worked for us before we know it, we've moved onto the next.

This one is becoming a quick HG skincare oil. Why? Well here's some of the benefits of Vitamin C :
  • Heals wounds
  • Helps protect the skin cells from DNA damage
  • Fits the Oxidation caused by Free Radicals that is associated with premature ageing
Young skin is full of Vitamin C but ageing skin will naturally lose some of that. Other factors can contribute to this decline, pollution, cigarette smoke and exposure to UV light.

When looking for Vitamin C within any beauty product look for the word Ascorbic Acid this is the stabilised form of Vitamin C, which is what you want to use otherwise you may end up with that burning, tingling sensation. You want at least a percentage of between 10% - 15% for it to be effective.

Don't forget that Vitamin C is an antioxidant, air tight container, antioxidants degrade in air and light, so you want to make sure that the product you are buying has is a dark tinted, air tight container.

Skin reactions : Once someone begins to use Vitamin C some see results within 21 days some 6 - 8 weeks but they say the maximum time is 6 months and your skin will be reaping in the benefits. It can help with fine line, wrinkles and skin discolouration. Unfortunately some do react to Vitamin C, one thing that can cause a breakout in some is Glycerin, it can make the skin drier than usual or breakout. This does contain Glycerin and I do know a few of the other girls within the Wishtrend panel have had breakouts :( Luckily I haven't *wipes forehead*

-edit : I was informed by Halima from Fashionicide that Vitamin C needs to be mixed with glycerin before use on the skin.

OST Original Pure Vitamin C 20 Serum :

My skin, freshly washed using Elemis FreshSkin Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash, using a few drops onto my palm I rub them together slightly and apply neck upwards. Once it starts to dry, it feels tacky. I then apply my night cream and leave it all to work. In the morning my skin doesn't feel dry or oily, it's just normal AND we go through it all again. As I said I've had minimal breakouts, only the expected few. I'm thinking of trying my own Vitamin C mix as I'm trying to simply my skincare routine.
